>>37008269I've been playing Pokemon since the games started. Kanto was my first game. Call me an oldfag or a genwunner or "muh KANTOOOO" to feel better if you must.
Kanto started the series. I don't mind nostalgic call backs when they are in taste. By no means is it the best region. Personally, RBY replays are a chore because gen 1 was good in it's prime, but quite frankly, it's dated. Gens 2, 3, and 4 did a good job of expanding on the Pokemon concept.
But then kids complained they couldn't get through sinnoh, so we had a linear path through unova. Then they complained there were too many Pokemon so we had Kalos. And somehow Pokemon games were still to hard so we had alola.
In my opinion, gen 5 was the beginning of the downfall of Pokemon. The Pokemon themselves are copies of the original 151 in a pathetic attempt to recapture the excitement and unknown of gen 1. Boo hoo! Santalune Forest accounts for 10 minutes of play through of Kalos! But then you conveniently ignore 156 tired ass ideas that is the unova Pokedex.
What did gen 5 add to Pokemon? Besides being 3D what did gen 6 add? What about gen 7? What will lgpe add apart from the step to console?
In summary, BW, while not the worst, was the beginning of the downfall of Pokemon. But things will only get worse from here. And I hope one day you look at lgpe the way old school fans look at gen 5. Because that's exactly what's going to happen.
