>>17046290He did move on and what he said wasn't heinous or the end of the world either and sounds generally like something you'd expect to hear from an ignorant guy who has to (as the host of a talkshow) try to play the know it all. However the sticking point is that Mori decided that this statement truly was a hill to die on over and that isn't worth it.
In essence, Mori sensed (correctly mind you) that people could leverage connor's statement to be a blanket one about Hololive being talentless and Mori did recognize the danger of endorsing that so tried very hard to dispel it initially. However, she both bullshitted her response in Connor's name to compensate but also acted indignant about it saying he didn't have to apologize (when no, he really did have to if Mori was to publicly acknowledge him still because direct shittalking is really not a thing vtuber agencies do to each other and he crossed a line there).
The thing that made it go down the path she did however was that she then got truly, very mad that a longtime fan would dare bring this up that she ranted for a good minute or so about the deadbeat asking that question itself, a red skull (year+) in a member stream, basically asking him to undo himself as a deadbeat. That, seems to indicate that her own coping mechanism with this relation WAS that "no true deadbeat dislikes my hanging with connor, thus it's just all antis and schizo talk" and by addressing proof to the contrary right in front of her face, she validated the possibility that deadbeats might not like the TT/connor relation not only to herself but in front of her closest fans. So with her anger multiplied she herself extended what was a boring timeloop into a direct question of TT/connor vs the fans by comparing that one deadbeat as meaningless next to her TT relation. This naturally brings up "well probably he wasn't the only one thinking that, does that mean she thinks a good chunk of deadbeats are totally worthless then" kind of reflection in the fans and so on. If Mori sensed this she truly showed spite/bad judgment in going and dragging this out further into a fans vs TT thing and that culminated in that tweet that apparently got her suspended, which could be interpreted as "yes I DO value this eceleb more than any of you, even though you're who made me rich and famous and this guy only talks to me at all because of your contributions." That is asking for trouble on a truly large scale.
Now if you think back to the post I was answering, it was originally about just what Connor said. What I'm getting at, is that his original statement is in fact sort of irrelevant, because the real issue is Mori weaponized the connection to him/TT itself as something to spite her fans with. To go pursue this thing herself for almost a week after it started indicated basically nothing but malice on her part hence even reddit had enough and getting them mad is like getting a pack of fluffy bunnies to attack you.
