The first step on the arctic continent, maybe the southernmost part in the sea /luna/ has access to would have happened prior to the establishment of LAB, again by natives from the northern holocontinent, it's only around the 75th parallel. But the LAB itself could make this step pretty soon I think, might be one of the first really serious ventures.
Just a note, the Arctic Kronie explorer man's adventure unfolds in the 1150s, so a few decades in the future.
