I think she could only get away with it because hololive was small. Once something becomes too big, it becomes corporatized and loses all soul. Watching the girls having fun is watchable in small doses, but with Asacoco the "spice" that made these moments much sweeter kinda died for me.
And I think she realized it as well, her Terraria streams, and other game streams that she attempted (alone, mind you) were all getting no viewers at all, and she couldn't really play to her strengths all that much (pushing boundaries in collabs with the other holo members), which is probably why she decided to quit.
A lot of her fans were pretty happy just before the announcement when they heard that she had a bunch of collabs lined up. That was her strength, and everyone was hoping for her triumphant return to glory, and the hope that all the Chinese bullshit was finally behind us.
Alas, it was not to be...
