>>14165411I honestly doubt it. EN auditions were what, March? May?
Hololive only started blowing up in the west around the time things were starting to go into lockdown world-wide, Febuary/March or so, and only REALLY started blowing up in the summer. If they had debuted without that big-ass buff, combined with the attention brought in from both the Aloe drama before it and the Taiwan shit directly after it, first off, I doubt most of the girls would have even applied in the first place, and the ones that did debut probably would probably be only slightly above what ID was at pre-EN buff (so around like, sub-100k and sub-thousand fans). It would be an entirely different situation with different people and different expectations, with intensely different results. The especially certain thing is that without all of this, I almost certainly wouldn't have my oshi, whose position only opened up because of the success of Gen 1.
