>>16022246There's a difference between "fandom" and obsession, anon.
The better way to phrase it would be along the lines of "antis will ALWAYS be more obsessed with [subject/person they hate] than the actual fans" yet this doesn't mean they encourage them onward and/or support them by purchasing merchandise, live tickets, SCs to help support said talent, like a typical fan would.
However, they WILL think about that person every day, and watch every move they make in order to find a moment to pounce, thinking THEY will be the one to slay the Goliath in their mind.
The saddest part is that once something DOES happen, like the subject disappears entirely or just simply retires/graduates, they're left with the ghost of their actions, and can only stew in a hatred that can never be fully quenched. They'll still be filled with hate, since whatever payoff they may get will almost undoubtedly not be worth all of the time and efforts they put in, and now their personality and overall existence is hollow.
Instead of enjoying something with the rest of a community, they'll still bring up the subject they despised the most, and be further ostracized by an off-topic and hilariously pitiful peeves that may be months, years or decades old, yet they simply cannot let go, and get consumed from within until they either let go, or end it all.
