>>2648641We can argue over why and why not until we're blue in the face, but at the end of the day, success in entertainment is largely driven by three factors: branding, luck, and the subjective whims of the audience market.
They're all doing great, everyone in Hololive is doing great. Even the homos are in the top percentile of streamers. But within the Hololive sphere of relative success, who comes out on top and who doesn't is really just a matter of luck. No one can, or at least no one has been able to consistently, figure out who will become a massive success and who will just settle into a nice niche. You can look at things that successful ones had that more niche ones didn't have and try to measure it based on that (for example, Gura became a meme before her debut and Ame got the "gremlin Dva funny" bump, while Kiara and Ina never became jokes themselves), but you can't replicate those results organically to test them. So it's pretty much impossible to test and find out what makes them more successful than others.
I think it's better to leave that question up to God. Obviously, effort is a factor that can increase your success, I would be a pretty big hypocrite if I thought otherwise. But effort can only help you maximize your potential, and "potential" isn't something you can measure. Not to mention how many people can succeed off of pure, blind luck, no potential or effort needed.
Trying to find out why someone succeeded more or less than someone else in these personality-driven mediums is an exercise in pure subjectivity.
