Anyone else think that hololive's member's only streams are a little fucked up? As far as I know this is mainly a hololive problem, since most vtubers stream on twitch where member's only streams are out of favor (if even possible).
When you think about it, it's a bit parasocial. You're telling fans, 'oh, well I can't confide in other people, but YOU gave me money so I can confide in you!'. And for the vtubers, it's giving the false sense of security 'well THESE people can't possibly be haters, they gave me $5!'. The whole thing seems kind of fucked up, unhealthy on both sides. Why can't hololive just be more like twitch, where subscribers get access to polls or multiplayer events or something? What's with dividing the audience? And then they tell the members 'oh, you can't talk about this to non-members'. Bro, that's fucked. You know that's fucked.
