It looks impressive to pull off that perfect execution after practicing for dozens of hours. Even more impressive to speedrun the whole thing. But for average person to play this is just frustrating.
There's a reason the true end in hollow knight is optional, and path of pain is COMPLETELY optional. Imagine if you took path of pain and made it the entire game. Sure, some people are into grinding the same corner for XX-th time to get a hollow sense of victory after finally reaching the checkpoint, but not everyone is into that.
