Like neither of us could even get aroused by it, but people were raving about this book called Sanctuary in the Shadow, but it's smut was rushed, not creative, and had awful dialogue during the sex. The thing is though, for being a community based around chuuba fanfiction, /wg/ raised my bar for quality stories by a lot, smut included, so that might also have something to do with my reception of it. The female lead is kinda lame and the romance itself also had no good build up, so I wasn't invested in the sex at all. Back on the social presence of smut, I think I was just surprised by how many front and center fantasy books on the shelves are smut based now. I mean I think it's cool as hell, but I never stopped to notice that it was a thing or not.
