>>7709143Yes and no, if you have an art foundation it's easy to get up and quickly make things on your own (a good artist can make even cubes look neat). Apart from that it's just technical stuff that you should be able to pick up rather quickly if you keep at it for a few months.
Some art knowledge like color theory and composition is really important though if you're aiming to do scenes and stuff. Best way I picked that up was doing photography, since it's simple to pick up a camera and compose without worrying about technical shit like you would with 3d.
I've been doing 3d for years and years so I can't recommend any tuts since I haven't really used any, but there should be plenty on Youtube.
Just don't aimlessly follow tutorials until you "think" you're ready for your own project. Following tutorials is like building lego sets with the instructions. You made something neat, but you don't know the how/why and it's not really "your work" it's someone else's. Work on your own stuff simultaneously so you're internalizing all the stuff you're learning on your own.
