> FBI firing senior officials at odds with Trump administration

> Two senior FBI officials, including one who initially resisted the Trump administration’s effort to gather the names of agents who worked on cases related to the US Capitol attack on January 6, 2021, are being fired, multiple sources tell CNN.

> Brian Driscoll, who was acting FBI director in the weeks before now-Director Kash Patel was confirmed, is being dismissed, sources said. Steve Jensen, the acting director in charge of the Washington Field Office, is also being fired, according to two separate sources.

> The administration is also firing other agents in the bureau this week who were perceived to be opposed to Trump in the past, according to three sources familiar with the agency’s actions.

> The FBI and its Washington field office declined to comment. CNN has reached out to the New York field office for comment.

> Driscoll and Jensen notified their colleagues Thursday, according to letters obtained by CNN, with Driscoll writing that he had not been given a reason for his firing.

> “Last night I was informed that tomorrow will be my last day in the FBI,” Driscoll wrote. “I understand that you may have a lot of questions regarding why, for which I currently have no answers. No cause has been articulated at this time.”

> “Our collective sacrifices for those we serve is, and will always be, worth it. I regret nothing,” Driscoll wrote. “You are my heroes, and I remain in your debt.”

> Jensen told his colleagues he intended “to meet this challenge like any other I have faced in this organization, with professionalism, integrity, and dignity.”

> He encouraged his colleagues to “never waver in your resolve to answer the call to protect the American people and uphold the Constitution.”

TRUMP GETS DUNKED ON BY OWN BOT

New chatbot on Trump’s Truth Social platform keeps contradicting him

An “answer engine” on Trump’s social media site says the 2020 election wasn’t stolen, tariffs aren’t boosting the stock market and Barack Obama is seen favorably.

President Donald Trump and the new AI search tool on his social media network, Truth Social, don’t exactly see eye to eye.

Truth Search AI contradicts the president by saying that tariffs are a tax on Americans, the 2020 election wasn’t stolen, and his family’s cryptocurrency investments pose a potential conflict of interest. Asked about Jan. 6, 2021, it said the “insurrection” at the U.S. Capitol was violent and linked to Trump’s “baseless claims of widespread election fraud.”

Trump and his allies, after years of criticizing tech companies and news organizations as biased and untruthful, have worked to develop Truth Social as part of an alternative social media ecosystem where they’ve said their viewpoints will not be suppressed.

But as companies expand their use of chatbots and “answer engines,” the rollout of Truth Search AI highlights one challenge for that approach: Artificial intelligence tools don’t always give the answers their owners might want or expect.

“Their own AI is now being too ‘woke’ for them,” said David Karpf, a professor at George Washington University who studies political communication, using a term commonly employed on the right to describe liberal viewpoints.

Trump Media and Technology Group, Truth Social’s owner and parent company, unveiled the tool Wednesday, calling it a “public beta test.” The company cited an executive at the search engine’s developer, Perplexity, saying the tool offered “direct, reliable answers” and would “bring powerful AI to an audience with important questions.” The chatbot is free for all Truth Social users.

BIG Balls assault

Big Balls was assaulted in DC. Not because of DOGE or anything, but because the black teens living in the progressive hell hole of DC enjoy carjacking people to pass the time
https://www.newsweek.com/edward-coristine-big-balls-doge-attacked-washington-dc-donald-trump-2109443
Aformer employee at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) nicknamed "Big Balls" was assaulted in Washington D.C. at the weekend, police said.

Edward Coristine was attacked in the city's Logan Circle neighborhood by a group of teenagers attempting to carjack him and a woman at around 3 a.m. on Sunday, according to The Associated Press and Politico. The woman was identified by police as Coristine's significant other.

Two 15-year-olds were arrested as they attempted to flee the scene.

The attack prompted President Donald Trump to renew calls for the federal government to seize control of the nation's capital.

Newsweek contacted the White House and Washington D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser's office for comment via email outside of regular business hours.

Why It Matters
Trump's remarks come as his administration weighs how far it can go to exert control over cities struggling with crime, homelessness and political infighting.

The prospect of federal intervention in D.C., which has operated under limited home rule since 1973, would mark a dramatic departure from decades of precedent. Under the Home Rule Act, the District maintains its own local government, but Congress retains ultimate authority and can overrule local laws.

What To Know
The group of teenagers approached the couple's car and made a comment about taking the vehicle, the Metropolitan Police Department said.

Coristine pushed the woman into the vehicle for safety and turned to confront the group. Several of the teenagers then attacked him until officers patrolling nearby intervened, police said.

The teenagers fled on foot. Two 15-year-olds from Maryland were later arrested on charges of unarmed carjacking.

https://www.nytimes.com/2025/08/07/business/trump-debanking-executive-order.html

> Trump Orders Clampdown on ‘Debanking,’ a Personal Gripe

> Author: Rob Copeland (LMAO)

> President Trump signed an executive order Thursday aimed at stopping banks from barring customers for what he says are political or religious reasons, an attempt to appease conservatives and cryptocurrency types who have complained about their treatment by Wall Street.

> The order deals with “debanking,” a catchall term for claims of having been denied a bank account or loan for reasons unrelated to finances. It instructs various federal regulators and agencies to investigate the matter and “make reasonable efforts” to reinstate debanked customers.

> The order also raises the specter of federal prosecutions of banks, by instructing regulators to refer some previous debanking complaints to the attorney general’s office.

> Major banks largely insist they are blameless for the closed accounts, saying that regulations begun under President Obama and continuing into Mr. Trump’s first term and the Biden administration required them to take a hard line against potential customers who transact disproportionately in cash or operate gun-related businesses, among other categories.

> Mr. Trump’s executive order echoes the banks’ defenses on the issue, saying prior federal directives had forced lenders to deny banking services to certain categories of disfavored customers.

> Some of the actions laid out in the order repeat steps that federal regulators have already taken on the issue recently, such as dropping a hotly debated rule that allowed federal overseers to assess whether a bank client could harm a lender’s reputation. Many banks had cited the rule as a reason for closing customer accounts.

The Department of Health and Human Services will cancel contracts and pull funding for some vaccines that are being developed to fight respiratory viruses like COVID-19 and the flu.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the health secretary and a longtime vaccine critic, announced in a statement Tuesday that $500 million worth of vaccine development projects, all using mRNA technology, will be halted.

The projects — 22 of them — are being led by some of the nation’s leading pharmaceutical companies like Pfizer and Moderna to prevent flu, COVID-19 and H5N1 infections.

The mRNA vaccines are credited with slowing the 2020 coronavirus pandemic.

Kennedy said in the Tuesday statement that he wants the health department to move away from mRNA vaccines, calling on the department to start “investing in better solutions.” He provided no details on what those technologies might be.

TRUMP BURNING CONTRACEPTIVES FOR AFRICA

No.1423219 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
US to burn $9.7 million worth of USAID-purchased contraceptives rather than deliver them to women overseas

The Trump administration is set to destroy $9.7 million worth of US-purchased contraceptives rather than deliver them to women overseas, following the dismantling of foreign assistance programs carried out by the US Agency for International Development, or USAID.

The “preliminary decision” to destroy the USAID-procured birth control was confirmed by a State Department spokesperson, who said the cost of incinerating them would be $167,000.

The contraceptives have been housed in a warehouse in Geel, Belgium. The Belgian foreign ministry said it was engaged in diplomatic talks with the US embassy to work to find alternative solutions for the supplies.

Asked about whether the contraceptives will definitely be destroyed, State Department spokesperson Tammy Bruce said on Tuesday that it is a “situation that changes each day.”

“We recognize the issues, but we also, of course, are committed to policy that Americans care about,” she said at a briefing.

The contraceptives are mostly long-lasting types of birth control, such as intrauterine devices (IUDs) and injectables, a US congressional aide told CNN. It is not clear exactly when the supplies will be destroyed, according to the aide.

“They have to double incinerate the products because they contain high levels of hormones and they don’t want to risk leaking the byproducts out in the environment, which likely adds to the cost,” the congressional aide said. “The Trump administration is quite literally burning taxpayer money.”
