FBI Director Kash Patel ALSO Considering Resigning If Pam Bondi Keeps Her Job, Per Report

https://www.mediaite.com/politics/just-in-fbi-director-kash-patel-also-considering-resigning-if-pam-bondi-keeps-her-job-per-report/

FBI Director Kash Patel may reportedly join Deputy Director Dan Bongino in resigning if Attorney General Pam Bondi keeps her job.

According to a Friday report from Axios, Bongino and Bondi clashed over President Donald Trump’s administration’s handling of the case of convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein. The Justice Department, led by Bondi, released a joint memo with the FBI announcing that the rumored “Epstein list” naming his associates never really existed. That conclusion contradicted Bondi’s previous claims that the supposed list was on her desk.

As a result, Bongino and Bondi reportedly got into it. That led to Bongino taking off from work on Friday “in protest.” The deputy director, according to The Daily Wire’s Mary Margaret Olohan, had also made it clear that he would be leaving his post if Bondi kept hers.

Not long after that reporting, Olohan added that Patel has joined Bongino in his stand against Bondi.

“Source close to DOJ says Kash Patel also wants Pam Bondi gone, and that he’d consider leaving if Bongino leaves,” Olohan said. “Also that there are more frustrations with other documents Bondi hasn’t released.”

FBI offering $50,000 reward for info on protester who appeared to ‘fire a gun’ at ICE agents

Armed demonstrator sought after immigration raid on California ‘marijuana facility’ sparks angry clashes

The FBI has offered a $50,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of a person who appeared to fire a gun at federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers in southern California on Thursday.

The alleged shooting took place on Laguna Road in Camarillo, Ventura County, where agents were executing a warrant at what the Department of Homeland Security described as a “marijuana facility” and met with resistance from local activists and workers blocking their path, leading to several arrests.

U.S. Attorney Bill Essayli, who heads the Central District of California office, announced the FBI reward on social media and shared a picture and video of the suspect, who is seen wearing a black T-shirt, pants, and a white surgical mask.

Customs and Border Protection (CBP) also posted about the incident on X, warning: “Make no mistake: anyone who targets our agents will face the full force of federal prosecution.”

According to CBS News, agents en route to the farm in Camarillo encountered the protesters blocking their way, ordered them to back up and fired tear gas and non-lethal rounds when they stood their ground, beginning what proved to be a four-hour-long standoff that also saw the demonstrators smash vehicles’ windows with pebbles and stones.

Trump demands more concessions as EU holds off on US tariff countermeasures

Trump has threatened 30% tariffs on the European Union on Aug. 1
White House adviser: Trump wants better trade deal offers
Germany's Merz to work with von der Leyen, Macron on solution

BRUSSELS, July 13 (Reuters) - The European Union said on Sunday it would extend its suspension of countermeasures to U.S. tariffs until early August and continue to press for a negotiated settlement as U.S. President Donald Trump's administration demanded more concessions from trading partners.
Trump said on Saturday he would impose a 30% tariff on most imports from the EU and Mexico from August 1, adding to similar warnings for other countries and leaving them less than three weeks to hammer out framework deals that could lower the threatened tariff rate.

White House Economic Adviser Kevin Hassett said on Sunday that countries' trade deal offers so far have not satisfied Trump and "the tariffs are real" without improvements.
"The president thinks that deals need to be better," Hassett told ABC's This Week program. "And to basically put a line in the sand, he sent these letters out to folks, and we'll see how it works out."
Ursula von der Leyen, head of the EU's executive Commission which handles trade policy for the 27 member states, said the bloc would maintain its two-track approach: keep talking and prepare retaliatory measures.
"We have always been very clear that we prefer a negotiated solution. This remains the case, and we will use the time that we have now," von der Leyen told a press conference, adding that the bloc would extend its halt on countermeasures until August.

Trump admnistration sues California over egg prices

US President Donald Trump's administration sued California officials over higher egg prices on Wednesday in a Los Angeles federal court.

"The State of California has contributed to the historic rise in egg prices by imposing unnecessary red tape on the production of eggs," the lawsuit said.

Trump has repeatedly vowed to bring down egg prices, which have soared largely due to a major bird flu outbreak. The price increases have also stoked consumer anxieties around inflation and the rising cost of living.

McDonald’s worker stabs manager

No.1420089 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
A 26-year-old McDonald's employee has been charged with fatally stabbing her manager, a mother of six, during a dispute at the fast food restaurant where they worked.

Afeni Badu Muhammad, of Eastpointe, was arraigned on Friday, July 11, in 38th District Court on charges of first-degree premeditated murder — a mandatory life without parole offense — and carrying a dangerous weapon with unlawful intent, a five-year felony, according to Macomb County Prosecutor Peter Lucido’s office.

Muhammad is accused of stabbing Jennifer Harris, of Mount Clemens, to death, just before 8 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, at the McDonald’s located at 17921 Nine Mile Road in Eastpointe.
Harris, who had worked at the location for 15 years, allegedly sent Muhammad home before her shift ended, the prosecutor's office said.

Argentina's Javier Milei Keeps Proving His Critics Wrong

No.1419652 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
https://www.newsweek.com/argentinas-javier-milei-keeps-proving-his-critics-wrong-2095695

Just months ago, Argentina seemed destined for another economic collapse: soaring poverty, runaway inflation and dire warnings from economists that President Javier Milei's radical austerity measures would choke growth. Instead, the economy is expanding at a pace few thought possible — leaving Milei's legions of critics scrambling for explanations.

In a stunning reversal, Argentina's economy posted a 7.6 percent year-over-year growth rate in the second quarter of 2025 — its strongest in nearly two decades — fueled by deregulation, sharp cuts to public spending and the loosening of currency controls. Retail sales, manufacturing and finance all surged, helping consumer spending jump nearly 3 percent from the previous quarter.

Since assuming office in December 2023, the firebrand libertarian economist has slashed government expenditures and secured a $20 billion deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF). His administration promised to dismantle decades of state intervention in favor of free markets — policies that many observers warned would deepen recession and spark social unrest.

Part of the turnaround has been Milei's dismantling of el cepo, the restrictive system of exchange controls first imposed in 2011 that prevented companies from moving profits abroad and limited Argentines' access to dollars.

After he lifted the restrictions, the peso was allowed to float within a managed band, narrowing the gap between official and black-market exchange rates. Reserves at the central bank climbed to their highest level in two years, bolstered by IMF funds, a $5 billion swap line with China and fresh loans from multilateral banks.

WHISTLEBLOWER EMAILS EXPOSE FRESH TRUMP ABUSES IN ABREGO GARCIA CASE

No.1419111 View ViewReplyLast 50OriginalReport
Newly released communications show the lengths the Trump administration went to in order to label Kilmar Abrego Garcia an MS-13 leader.

Emails provided to Congress by a whistleblower and 15-year veteran of the Justice Department reveal that administration officials went to striking lengths to prop up the claim that Kilmar Abrego Garcia was a “leader” of the MS-13 gang—even as President Trump was coming under intense pressure to return him from El Salvador after wrongfully deporting him.

The emails—which The New Republic obtained in advance of their scheduled release Thursday—deepen our understanding of the adminisration’s extraordinary mishandling of Abrego Garcia’s case. They show in fresh detail how officials sought to create the impression that Abrego Garcia was a dangerous criminal before having any evidence to back up the claim, which has since proven to be unsupported.

The emails were provided to Congress by Erez Reuveni, a 15-year veteran of the Justice Department who was fired this spring after expressing doubts in court about the rendition of Abrego Garcia to CECOT, El Salvador’s notorious megaprison. Abrego Garcia—who had been living in Maryland under a form of protected status granted by an immigration judge in 2019—was deported on March 15 due to an admitted “error.”

But Trump refused to bring Abrego Garcia back to the United States for months—even defying a Supreme Court order to “facilitate” his return—and justified all this largely by citing his supposed MS-13 status. The administration finally brought him back in early June, only to bring new criminal charges against him for smuggling migrants.

Trump Has Lost the Plot on Tariffs

No.1419023 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
The US has a significant trade imbalance with the rest of the world owing in large part to the strength of the dollar and the lack of employment at the bottom end of the education hierarchy. Given this I was pleasantly surprised that Trump was raising tariffs in addition to cutting taxes because it may have induced companies to invest in creating local employment and curtailed spending on foreign goods, which while it may have reduced overall GDP may have done something to level the Gini coefficient a bit while reducing national debt.

Lately there's been a $10 billion dollar IBM semiconductor chip fab plant for next generation lithography set up in upstate New York which I've also been happy about. I should also mention that I'd still like to see someone become the Henry Ford of micro nuclear power plants and start making and shipping those world wide as quickly as they used to make cars.

Given all that, this copper tariff makes absolutely zero sense and the pharma tariff is more or less a give away to industry. If you want to increase production of goods in the US you don't want to put tariffs on raw materials unless you want to start digging them out of the ground rather than making goods you can ship world wide. Does the US lack jobs doing that? Why wouldn't the US focus more on industrial capacity as opposed to blowing up the Rockies? Right now we import the majority of our copper from Chile and people seemed more or less happy with that. Making copper more expensive makes the entire computer industry more expensive overall not to mention anything that uses copper at all including most of the electronics world. Which is an area of specialization for the United States.

It just doesn't make any sense to me. It's either a wag the dog type situation (what is being kept out of the news?) or it's backroom political payoffs. I can't believe that Trump and his cabinet are this dumb on purpose.
