Trump Suspends Visas from 75 shithole countries

No.1477629 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Promises made, promises kept. I voted for this
https://www.cnn.com/2026/01/14/politics/us-suspending-immigrant-visa-processing-75-countries
>The United States is indefinitely suspending immigrant visa processing from 75 countries in another expansion of the Trump administration’s crackdown on immigration.

>The pause in processing will apply to countries including Brazil, Colombia, Egypt, Haiti, Somalia and Russia. The suspension applies to immigrant visas, such as those for employment or to join family in the US. The pause does not apply to non-immigrant visas like student and tourist visas, and as such would not apply for those seeking to travel to the World Cup in the US this summer.

>The pause will begin on January 21, a US official said.

"That lesbian Renee, whatever happened there..."

https://www.inquisitr.com/former-sopranos-star-vincent-curatola-calls-out-don-lemon-after-viral-church-incident

Veteran actor Vincent Curatola, who rose to prominence as John “Johnny Sack” Sacrimoni on “The Sopranos,” had harsh words for former CNN anchor Don Lemon following the latter’s involvement in a viral anti-ICE protest at a Minneapolis church.

Protesters interrupted a Sunday service at Cities Church in St. Paul on January 18, yelling phrases such as “ICE OUT” and accusing a pastor of cooperating with ICE and the Department of Homeland Security. Lemon, now an independent journalist after CNN fired him in 2023, followed the protesters and spoke with one of the pastors, who repeatedly asked him and the protesters to leave.

An X post calling Lemon an “evil, evil man” had over 55,000 views as of Monday morning. Curatola quoted the post, writing, “An ‘evil’ what??” In another post, Curatola wrote, “Do you think he should be in jail??”

Mass protests break out against Trump's Greenland aggression

No.1479052 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
https://www.pbs.org/newshour/world/thousands-march-in-greenland-against-trumps-threats-to-take-over-the-arctic-island
Thousands of Greenlanders carefully marched across snow and ice to take a stand against U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday. They held signs of protest, waved their national flag and chanted "Greenland is not for sale" in support of their own self-governance in the face of increasing threats of an American takeover.

Just as they finished their trek from the small downtown of Greenland's capital city Nuuk to the U.S. Consulate, the news broke: Trump, from his home in Florida, announced he will charge a 10% import tax starting in February on goods from eight European countries over their opposition to U.S. control of Greenland.

"I thought this day couldn't get any worse but it just did," Malik Dollerup-Scheibel said after The Associated Press told him about Trump's announcement. "It just shows he has no remorse for any kind of human being now."

Trump has long said he thinks the U.S. should own the strategically located and mineral-rich island, which is a self-governing territory of Greenland. Trump intensified his calls a day after the military operation to oust former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro earlier this month.

Dollerup-Scheibel, a 21-year-old Greenlander, and Greenland Prime Minister Jens-Frederik Nielsen were among what others described as the island's biggest protest, drawing nearly a quarter of Nuuk's population. Others held rallies and solidarity marches across the Danish realm, including in Copenhagen, as well as in the capital of the Inuit-governed territory of Nunavut in Canada's far north.

"This is important for the whole world," Danish protester Elise Riechie said as she held Danish and Greenlandic flags in Copenhagen. "There are many small countries. None of them are for sale."

US, for 1st time in 50 years, experienced negative net migration in 2025

No.1477654 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
The negative number is mostly due to a drop in entries, the report said.

https://abcnews.go.com/US/us-1st-time-50-years-experienced-negative-net/story

The U.S. experienced negative net migration in 2025 for the first time in at least half a century as a result of the Trump administration's immigration crackdown, according to a report released Tuesday by the Brookings Institution.

Although the administration has undertaken aggressive removal efforts, the negative number is mostly due to a significant drop in entries into the U.S., the report said.

"We estimate net flows of -295,000 to -10,000 for the year," the Brookings study stated. "Though a high degree of policy uncertainty remains, continued negative net migration for 2026 is also likely."

The report attributed the shift to combination of the large drop in entries and an increase in enforcement activity leading to removals and voluntary departures.

The Trump administration's suspension of many humanitarian programs -- including most refugee programs with the exception of those involving white South Africans -- and a decline in temporary visas also contributed to the negative net migration, the report said.

The report's authors estimate there were between 310,000 and 315,000 removals in 2025, a figure lower than what the administration has claimed. Department of Homeland Security officials claim that, so far, more than 600,000 people have been removed during the crackdown.

Trump puts 11th Airborne on alert to control Minneapolis

Some 1,500 active duty Army paratroopers have been put on alert for a potential deployment to Minnesota, according to two defense officials.

The soldiers are from the 11th Airborne Division, based at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Alaska, one of the Army's premier infantry formations and a frontline force in the U.S. military presence in the Pacific, positioned to help deter China. The division is also the military's leading formation for Arctic warfare.

One official said the president had not made a final decision on whether to deploy two battalions. The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

"We are taking prudent steps to prepare active-duty Army forces," the official said. "This doesn't mean they will deploy; we are preparing options."

Meanwhile, members of the Minnesota National Guard remain on state orders under the authority of Gov. Tim Walz. It would be unusual for federalized active-duty troops and state-activated Guard forces to be deployed simultaneously and while serving under different legal frameworks. National Guard units can also be federalized and placed under the president's command.

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney warned Friday that a decision on who owns Greenland doesn't belong to U.S. President Donald Trump.

“The future of Greenland is a decision for Greenland and for the Kingdom of Denmark,” Carney told journalists at a press conference in Beijing following talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping.

Carney urged NATO allies including the U.S. to “respect their commitments” as he stressed Canada’s support for Danish sovereignty over the strategically vital Arctic island, which Trump has threatened to seize.

"We are NATO partners with Denmark, and so our full partnership stands," Carney said in his first remarks on the intensifying diplomatic brouhaha. "Our obligations on Article 5, Article 2 of NATO stand, and we stand full-square behind those."

The issue of Greenland has come to the fore again thanks to Trump’s escalating rhetoric on U.S. interests in the Arctic, which has sharpened tensions between Washington and the EU.

Denmark and several allies announced this week that they would step up their military presence in Greenland.

A day after Danish and Greenlandic foreign ministers held talks with senior U.S. officials in Washington, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said the EU has "doubled down on investments and supporting Greenland" and that the bloc would “continue our work on Arctic security with our allies, our partners, including the United States.”

Carney said Greenland and Arctic sovereignty also featured in his discussions with Xi, adding that he “found much alignment of views in that regard.”

Korean man loses sexual function after urologist fucks up his penis in enlargement surgery

Doctor who severed penis during enlargement surgery fined $5,000
Published: 20 Aug. 2025, 12:52
[KOREA JOONGANG DAILY]

A urologist who severed a patient’s penis during an enlargement procedure was fined 7 million won ($5,000) by a Seoul court.

According to legal sources on Wednesday, the Seoul Central District Court on Aug. 12 fined the urologist for causing injury through professional negligence.

The incident occurred in 2020 at a urology clinic in Gangnam District, southern Seoul, where a 35-year-old man underwent penile enlargement surgery involving the insertion of an implant. During the procedure, the doctor severed the patient’s penis horizontally.

The patient had previously undergone two surgeries, and the artificial implant had fused with the corpus cavernosum — the spongy erectile tissue of the penis. Despite this, the doctor failed to inform the patient that severe adhesions could increase the risk of complications such as erectile dysfunction, according to the court.

Prosecutors said the doctor proceeded with the dissection despite the adhesions and ended up cutting through 100 percent of the corpus cavernosum and 95 percent of the corpus spongiosum, which resulted in damage to both the penis and urethra.

During the trial, the doctor claimed that while adhesion was expected, it was not foreseeable that the dissection would damage the urethra. The doctor denied violating the duty to inform the patient of such risks.

Trump threatens new tariffs against the entire planet for not recognizing US control of Greenland

No.1478292 View ViewReplyLast 50OriginalReport
https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2026/01/16/trump-greenland-us-tariff-threat/88213651007/
WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump, who called himself “the tariff king,” threatened to impose tariffs on other countries to pressure them into allowing the United States to annex Greenland.

Trump has insisted on controlling Greenland, a semi-autonomous part of Denmark, by arguing that it is vital for minerals and Arctic shipping lanes. But his proposal set off an international firestorm, with opposition from leaders in Denmark and Greenland, elsewhere in Europe and among bipartisan members of Congress.

Trump’s comments came at a health care event at the White House, where he trumpeted how the threat of tariffs forced other developed countries to accept higher drug prices so U.S. prices could come down.

“I may do that for Greenland, too,” Trump said Jan. 16. “I may put a tariff on countries if they don’t go along with Greenland because we need Greenland for national security. I may do that.”

He didn’t elaborate on how much the tariffs would be or which countries he would impose them on. But tariffs he has already imposed led to a temporarily halt in trade with China and pressured other countries to open their doors to more trade and companies to invest more in U.S. factories.

The Supreme Court could rule at any time on the legitimacy of tariffs that Trump imposed unilaterally around the world that have raised hundreds of billions of dollars from the taxes on imports from abroad.

“I’m the tariff king and the tariff king has done a great job,” Trump said. “I hope we win the Supreme Court case because if we don’t, it’d be a shame for our country.”
