Feds Dismiss Charges Against Woman Shot by Border Patrol Agent in Brighton Park

No.1459111 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
>Remember when people were saying she was going to jail as an Antifa terrorist?

Federal prosecutors are expected to dismiss criminal charges against Marimar Martinez, who was charged with assaulting federal immigration agents, one of whom shot her multiple times during a vehicle incident in Brighton Park last month.

In a one-page motion filed Thursday morning, assistant U.S. attorneys Ronald DeWald and Aaron Bond said they “respectfully (move) this Court to dismiss the indictment” against Martinez and another man, Anthony Ian Santos Ruiz, who were each charged in October following the shooting at 39th Street and Kedzie.

U.S. District Judge Georgia Alexakis granted that motion during a brief hearing Thursday afternoon.

“I’m just grateful for everything,” Martinez told reporters in the lobby of the Dirksen Federal Building following the hearing. “I’m just happy, I’m excited.”

Prosecutors in court Thursday confirmed the case would be dismissed with prejudice, meaning the criminal charges against Martinez and Ruiz cannot be refiled at a later date.

No additional explanation for the sudden dismissal was provided.

Following the shooting, texts from the Border Patrol agent who fired at Martinez revealed he apparently bragged about the shooting to others, stating in one message that he’d “fired 5 rounds and she had 7 holes. Put that in your book boys.”

Joseph Fitzpatrick, a spokesperson for the U.S. Attorney’s Office, on Thursday said the office is “constantly evaluating new facts and information” relating to the cases and investigations that arose out of “Operation Midway Blitz” — the enhanced immigration efforts undertaken by the Trump administration in Chicago in recent months.

> Donald Trump urges Keir Starmer to 'protect Britons from mass migration' as US issues rape gangs warning

Donald Trump's administration will urge Sir Keir Starmer to address Britain’s mass migration crisis, GB News can exclusively reveal.

An official American communique, seen by The People's Channel, will be issued to governments across Europe and the West, stating: “We encourage your government to ensure that policies protect your citizens from the negative social impacts of mass migration, including displacement, sexual assault, and the breakdown of law and order.”

The US State Department issued the memo to American Embassies in Europe, including Britain, telling officials to "urge governments to positively respond to their citizens’ growing discontent related to unmitigated migration”.

The memo also cited “organised rape gangs in the United Kingdom” as an example of how mass migration has damaged European nations.

Responding to the bombshell document, ex-Home Secretary Suella Braverman told GB News: “It speaks volumes when Washington has to remind our own government of its basic duty to protect the British public. Trump is right to call out Starmer’s disastrous record on mass migration.”

“Britain must follow our US allies with unapologetically firm border control: decisive deportations for anyone who has no legal right to be here, a zero-tolerance approach to foreign nationals who break our laws, and a system that finally puts British people first.”

“Until more people are leaving than arriving, we cannot pretend our borders are secure.”

Trump Demands Death for Dems Who Reminded Troops Unlawful Orders Are Invalid Orders

No.1458959 View ViewReplyLast 50OriginalReport
WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump on Thursday suggested Democratic veterans in Congress should be hanged for releasing a joint video urging U.S. military service members to disobey unlawful orders from on high.

In a series of unhinged posts on his social media site, Truth Social, Trump boosted an anonymous user’s message that read, “HANG THEM GEORGE WASHINGTON WOULD !!” The message was in response to a news story about the video released Tuesday by six Democrats in the House and Senate, all with military or intelligence backgrounds.

In another message, Trump himself called it “SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR, punishable by DEATH!” that members of Congress would release such a video.

“It’s called SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL,” the president wrote, in still another message. “Each one of these traitors to our Country should be ARRESTED AND PUT ON TRIAL. Their words cannot be allowed to stand - We won’t have a Country anymore!!! An example MUST BE SET. President DJT.”

In fact, U.S. military service members have a right to refuse illegal orders, and in some cases, a duty to do so. Everyone in the military swears an oath to the U.S. Constitution, not to a particular president of the United States or anyone else in the chain of command.

A service member may be punished by court-martial for failing to obey any lawful order or regulation, per the Uniform Code of Military Justice, which is the foundation for the conduct and legal procedures for the U.S. military justice system.

US Envoy to Israel Secretly Meets With Israeli Spy

> Ex-spy Jonathan Pollard, US envoy Mike Huckabee held secret meeting at US Jerusalem embassy

Convicted Israeli-American spy Jonathan Pollard said that his meeting with US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee at the American Embassy in Jerusalem was a “personal” conversation to express gratitude, not a political exchange, in a phone conversation with The Jerusalem Post on Thursday.

“The meeting, simply put, was a personal affair. That’s it," he said. "The reason I wanted to meet him was to express my deep and sincere appreciation for everything he had done to help me when I was in prison."

According to Pollard, the meeting was “misinterpreted” and used by certain figures, both within the US Embassy and the Trump administration, to try to remove Huckabee.

The convicted ex-spy said he requested the session through his lawyer and emphasized that the discussion was about personal matters, not policy. He added that Huckabee was “very gracious,” and that he would not have considered such a routine conversation as something requiring formal reporting to Washington.

Pollard emphasized that the talk focused on thanking Huckabee for his support and kindness to his late wife, Esther. He also alleged that elements inside the embassy and the US administration misinterpreted and “weaponized” the meeting to discredit the ambassador.

He added that he believed “elements in the CIA station” played a role in how the meeting was interpreted.

Pollard singled out former US ambassador Dan Kurtzer and said he believed someone at the embassy had alerted officials in Washington about the meeting.

"Dan Kurtzer is someone I characterize as an enemy of the State of Israel. He has made some very intemperate remarks concerning me that I find, frankly, kind of shocking," Pollard stated. "I understood, the minute I read the article, where this was coming from."

DoL cancels October jobs report, blames shutdown.

No.1458962 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
https://fortune.com/2025/11/19/government-cancels-october-jobs-report-late-unemployment-rate/

The Labor Department said Wednesday that it will not be releasing a full jobs report for October because the 43-day federal government shutdown meant it couldn’t calculate the unemployment rate and some other key numbers.

Instead, it will release some of the October jobs data — most importantly the number of jobs that employers created last month — along with the full November jobs report, now due a couple of weeks late on Dec. 16.

The department’s “employment situation” report usually comes out the first Friday of the month. But the government shutdown disrupted data collection and delayed the release of the reports. For example, the September jobs report, now coming out Thursday, was originally due Oct. 3.

>tl;dr Black man sets white woman on fire in Chicago public transit.

Federal prosecutors on Wednesday charged a man with committing a terrorist attack for allegedly setting a woman on fire on a Chicago train.

Lawrence Reed was sitting at the back of a car on a Blue Line L train on Monday night when he approached a woman as she sat with her back to him, according to a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives arrest affidavit. Reed removed the cap from a plastic bottle, then doused the woman with what was believed to be gasoline, the affidavit said.

The 26-year-old woman then ran to the back of the train car. Reed ignited the bottle, approached the woman and set her on fire, according to the affidavit. Surveillance video showed Reed at a gas station about 30 minutes before the attack, filling a small container with gasoline, the affidavit says.

The federal charge against Reed, 50, of Chicago, carries a maximum penalty of life in prison.

Federal court records do not show whether Reed has an attorney representing him in the federal case. Chicago outlets reported that Reed was disruptive during his first appearance in a federal court on Wednesday afternoon, including yelling over the judge that he wanted to represent himself and claiming that he was a Chinese citizen.

Reed shouted, “I plead guilty!” repeatedly as the judge tried to advise him of his rights, according to local news reports.

After the attack, the train the woman was on pulled into a stop downtown. Reed walked away and the woman stumbled out and fell on the ground, police said. She was taken to a hospital in critical condition with severe burns to her head and body, authorities said. Officials have not released her name.

Air cargo faces $1Bn overhaul to comply with new CBP rule

No.1459122 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
WASHINGTON — A new cargo screening requirement by the Trump administration marks a major – and costly – shift for global air logistics by forcing a much higher level of transparency on carriers, shippers, and marketplaces worldwide.

A U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) interim final rule (IFR), effective immediately when published in the Federal Register on Friday, is a response to evolving terrorist tactics, according to CBP.

The Enhanced Air Cargo Advance Screening (ACAS) IFR targets vulnerabilities in high-volume, anonymous e-commerce shipments, with compliance estimated by CBP to cost the industry between $877 million and $1.04 billion.

Every major player in the global air logistics pipeline – including Amazon Air (NASDAQ: AMZN), UPS (NYSE: UPS), and FedEx (NYSE: FDX), as well as major freight forwarders like C.H. Robinson (NASDAQ: CHRW) and Kuehne+Nagel (SWX: KNIN) – is required by the rule to reprogram their technology platforms to collect and transmit new sets of data or face penalties.
