Trump impersonates ‘killer’ Modi, who skipped Asia summits

No.1453518 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
President Trump on Wednesday impersonated Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his absence during a stop in South Korea.

“He’s a killer, he’s tough as hell,” Trump said at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit. Changing his voice, Trump said, “‘No we will fight!’ I said, ‘Whoa, is this the same man that I know?'”

Trump was referring to the brief conflict between India and Pakistan in May. He called Modi “the nicest-looking guy” and said both countries were “nuclear nations” that wanted to fight each other.
“They both said that,” Trump said. “They’re warring — they’re strong people.”

Modi did not attend the summit over the worry that Trump would bring up Pakistan, Bloomberg reported. Indian officials worried that Trump would take credit for the ceasefire between India and Pakistan, fueled by Pakistan nominating Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.

India denies Trump’s involvement in the four-day conflict with Pakistan, Bloomberg wrote.

Trump and Modi spoke on Wednesday about India no longer buying oil from Russia. Trump told reporters in the Oval Office that he was “not happy” about India buying Russian oil, but Modi assured him that oil purchases had ceased.

Pierre Robert, the longtime radio host on 93.3 WMMR in Philadelphia, has died, the Beasley Media Group said Wednesday.

Robert joined the rock station in 1981 and was one of the most recognizable personalities on the airwaves in the region.

He "hosted the midday show with his unabashed love for music, his listeners, and the city." the statement says. "The legendary rock radio personality was best known for his welcoming 'Greetings Citizens' salutation, along with his big heart and warm voice."

His show included daily features such as Pierre's Vinyl Cut and "On This Day" history lessons.

"He truly cared about his listeners and the people of Philadelphia," Beasley Media Group, which owns WMMR, said in the statement.

He supported charitable efforts, including the Aids Walk and Manna's Pie in the Sky fundraiser.

"We all have heavy hearts today," Caroline Beasley, CEO of the media group, said. "Pierre's unwavering love for music and his deep connection with listeners made him one of radio's most enduring and beloved voices. He will be greatly missed."

The largest federal union in the United States is literally begging Democrats to pass the clean cr and end the Democrat Shutdown.

Largest government union calls for clean CR to end shutdown

The largest union representing federal workers is calling for an end to the government shutdown, as it hits Day 27.

In a Monday release, American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) National President Everett Kelley said “it’s time” for Congress to immediately pass a clean continuing resolution (CR) to reopen the government.

“No half measures, and no gamesmanship,” Kelley said. “Put every single federal worker back on the job with full back pay — today.”

The AFGE, according to its website, represents more than 800,000 workers in “nearly every” federal government agency. The agencies with the most AFGE members include the departments of Veterans Affairs, Homeland Security and Defense, as well as the Social Security Administration.

The union has filed lawsuits on behalf of furloughed and laid-off workers throughout the shutdown, including Oct. 3, when it sued the Education Department over automatic email responses from agency employees blaming congressional Democrats for the shutdown.

The union represents 820,000 federal and D.C. government workers.

Federal employees last received partial paychecks on Oct. 10, Oct. 14 or Oct. 16, according to the Bipartisan Policy Center.

Stephen Miller Puts Up Hysterical Defense of White House Teardown

White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller mounted an impassioned defense of President Donald Trump’s controversial White House renovations, for which the entire East Wing has been destroyed.

In an appearance on Fox News’ The Will Cain Show, Miller railed against the left, which has “scarred the landscape of our country with grotesque, so-called ‘modern art’ that celebrates ugliness, that celebrates defacement.”

“The tragedy is a political party and a movement that has ripped down our statues, our monuments, our holidays, our heroes, our heritage,” Miller continued, ignoring the fact that the Trump administration has itself called for the removal of statues that do not align with its version of history.

“The Republican Party under President Trump celebrates beauty again and beautification again, and just as President Trump has beautified Washington D.C., now he’s repairing, finally, an area of the White House that has been left in disrepair for decades.”

https://apnews.com/article/texas-tylenol-autism-texas-rfk-trump-3b39d3ac55b3b766b44c8fb03bad8b5e

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton on Tuesday accused the companies behind Tylenol of deceptively marketing the pain reliever to pregnant mothers in a lawsuit that asserted unproven claims that early exposure to acetaminophen increased risk of autism and other disorders.

Paxton, an ally of President Donald Trump and a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate, announced the suit against Johnson & Johnson and Kenvue weeks after Trump and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. asserted an unproven link between the pain reliever and autism while announcing a wide-ranging effort to study the causes of the complex brain disorder.

The suit alleges that the companies violated Texas consumer protection laws by hiding the danger that acetaminophen, the active ingredient in Tylenol, posed to fetuses and young children and “deceptively marketed Tylenol as the only safe painkiller for pregnant women.”

It also alleges that Johnson & Johnson fraudulently transferred liabilities arising from Tylenol to Kenvue to shield assets against lawsuits.

In 2021, New Brunswick, New Jersey-based J&J announced that it would turn its consumer health business, which makes Tylenol and other products, into a separate company now known as Kenvue. It referenced that divestment in a statement Tuesday, saying “all rights and liabilities associated with the sale of its over-the-counter products, including Tylenol (acetaminophen), are owned by Kenvue.”

“Big Pharma betrayed America by profiting off of pain and pushing pills regardless of the risks. These corporations lied for decades, knowingly endangering millions to line their pockets,” Paxton said in a statement. “Additionally, seeing that the day of reckoning was coming, Johnson & Johnson attempted to escape responsibility by illegally offloading their liability onto a different company.”

amateur investors ride out dips amid talk of an AI bubble

The M7 now accounts for more than a third of the entire S&P 500 and Nvidia has a share price to earnings ratio of 54; investors would normally begin to twitch at a ratio of 25. Microsoft and Apple both passed $4tn valuation on Tuesday, joining Nvidia as the only companies to pass that threshold, though Apple later eased back just below.

Earlier this month, Carson Block, founder of the short seller Muddy Waters, told the Financial Times: “Cycles have become so long and the corrections so short, that the demand for traditional short selling is just not there.”

Block said investors were confident, and ballsy, rallying around battle cries such as BTFD, or “buy the fucking dip”.

On 3 April, while the S&P 500 dived by almost 5% the day after Trump announced his “liberation day” tariffs, retail investors pushed more than $3bn into US stocks, according to Vanda Research – the largest daily injection of cash since the market analyst began keeping a tally in 2014.

The phenomenon is leading to more interest in the “inelastic markets hypothesis”, proposed in 2021 by the economists Xavier Gabaix and Ralph Koijen, of the US thinktank the National Bureau of Economic Research, which argues that share prices can be pushed up by an increase in the amount of money available to invest.

The theory goes that prices are rising not because of the prospects and profitability of the M7 and other popular assets, but because of the wall of money being pushed into the markets by amateur speculators. The trend has been compounded by an increase in low-cost passive investments by pension schemes and fund managers, which channel savings into an ever-smaller group of the fastest growing stocks.

Trump says declaration of war not needed on drug cartels

https://youtu.be/Q__bSi5rBlw?si=UesBWG7mKiiudNF3

https://www.reuters.com/world/us/trump-says-declaration-war-not-needed-drug-cartels-2025-10-23/

"Well, I don't think we're going to necessarily ask for a declaration of war. I think we're just going to kill people that are bringing drugs into our country. OK? We're going to kill them,"

WASHINGTON, Oct 23 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday that his administration plans to brief the U.S. Congress on operations against drug cartels and that even though he did not need a declaration of war, operations against cartels on land would be next.
The U.S. military has been increasing its presence in the Caribbean, including deployments of guided-missile destroyers, F-35 fighter jets, a nuclear submarine and thousands of troops.

The United States has carried out a number of strikes against suspected drug vessels in the Caribbean and Pacific Ocean since early September, killing nearly 40 people. While the Pentagon has provided little information, it has said some of those strikes have been against vessels near Venezuela.
"Now they (drugs) are coming in by land ... you know, the land is going to be next," Trump added, echoing comments he has made in recent weeks.
Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, speaking at a live event in Caracas on Thursday, warned that if the U.S. ever intervened in the country, "the working class would rise and a general insurrectional strike would be declared in the streets until power is regained," adding that "millions of men and women with rifles would march across the country."
