even if it's just a mock up you can see how classic design sensibilities can sharpen and focus what is currently a messy clusterfuck of a set that is only meant to stay built collecting dust on a shelf instead of played with.
And guess what, the vastly inferior part count would drastically lower the set's price, the use of general use pieces over overly specialized ones would greatly increase the potential for people to use them for other purposes in their own creations and the plastic's quality would be superior since the much expanded color palette led Lego to switch from precolored ABS granules to clear ABS that is then mixed with a coloring agent which if you know anything about plastic injection means it's of an inferior quality by default and is much more prone to color discrepancy mistakes on parts that are supposed to be of the same exact tone.
