>>40952894Meh, /#/ is only slightly less blind than management, because the ultimate truth is that nobody seems to have the full picture, or grasp exactly where the numbers are coming from. And even if we can have a perspective on what creates numbers, we have no idea how to actually execute.
For example, it's a common sentiment that "storylines" are a good source of numbers. Thing is, lots of these moments are just random as fuck things that went viral for no discernable reason, and for every big moment there are countless others that get clipped, only to die in a ditch somewhere, lost and forgotten. A literal single frame of Ina's 3D model glitching out from scuff turned into a goddamn fanart trend. Inversely, you can bash together random combinations of collabs day in day out and still end up with zero storylines of consequence. Or even better, you can get a storyline of consequence (eg: Selen x Mumei thinking they were in the same corpo) that leads to fuck all for anyone involved.
For Tempus specifically, it gets even worse because Cover by their own admission has no idea what their appeal's supposed to be (they're still trying to hire people for that...). Honestly, I'm not even sure Niji knows what they're doing either, because Vox randomly became coomer popular a month after debut, then just as randomly fell off a cliff ~6 months later, and all attempts to replicate him (Noctyx coomer mandate, Hex) have been met with a dull whimper.
I dunno, my only idea at this point is that each member of Tempus needs to pick a niche for themselves and then hammer that down as the "niche, but Anime" option. Trying to replicate Gura is probably hopeless (Moom was their best shot), but Ina and Fauna have shown decent success with hammering the same point, and Koyori ground her way from bottom 1 to top 2 in her gen through sheer force of will. I feel like Selen's best in class in her niche too (that TikTok had to come from somewhere), and her median apparently still leads the NijiGirls? At the very least, they need to rein in the random flailing and constant experimenting that they've been doing for the past ~6 months, because that's clearly numbers poison no matter who you're talking about (Kiara since debut, Ame's total randomness, Bae, Kronii's lack of goals, etc).
TL:DR - the only thing /#/ knows for sure is that consistency is good for numbers.
