Japanese Foreign Minister Announces Plan to “Transform Japan Into a Diverse Multiethnic Society”

No.736407 View ViewReplyLast 50OriginalReport
The Japanese foreign minister has announced a plan to “transform Japan into a diversified multiethnic society” by encouraging mass immigration and giving foreign residents the right to vote.

Toshimitsu Motegi is a politician for the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) and has served as the country’s Minister for Foreign Affairs since September 2019.

During a Q and A session, Motegi said his “national vision” meant “transforming Japan in the 21st century into a “diversified multiethnic society” by way of mass immigration from all over the world.

This would also be achieved by codifying English as the country’s second language and giving “suffrage to resident foreigners.”

Japan is 98.1 per cent ethnically Japanese, with the next most populous ethnicity being Chinese at just 0.5 per cent.

The country has an extremely low crime rate and terrorism is very rare. Back in 2017, at the height of the refugee crisis, it was revealed that Japan had refused 99% of refugees, having accepted just 28 in 2016.

Back in 2018, leftists in the U.S. began demanding that Japan embrace multiculturalism because a half-Japanese tennis player with a Haitian-American father won the US Open.

Trump, Hungry for Power, Tries to Wrestle Away G.O.P. Fund-Raising

No.804657 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/03/09/us/politics/trump-republican-fundraising.html

WASHINGTON — It was a familiar play by Donald J. Trump: lashing out at his enemies and trying to raise money from it.

The former president this week escalated a standoff over the Republican Party’s financial future, blasting party leaders and urging his backers to send donations to his new political action committee — not to the institutional groups that traditionally control the G.O.P.’s coffers.

“No more money for RINOS,” he said in a statement released on Monday by his bare-bones post-presidential office, referring to Republicans In Name Only. He directed donors to his own website instead.

The aggressive move against his own party is the latest sign that Mr. Trump is trying to wrest control of the low-dollar online fund-raising juggernaut he helped create, diverting it from Republican fund-raising groups toward his own committee, which has virtually no restrictions on how the money can be spent.

Last week, Mr. Trump sent cease-and-desist letters — which appear to have little legal standing — to the Republican National Committee, the National Republican Congressional Committee and the National Republican Senatorial Committee, warning them not to appeal to donors using his name and image.

The jockeying comes as the party struggles to chart its path forward after losing the House, the Senate and the White House during Mr. Trump’s tenure, with moderate party leaders pushing the party to move beyond the divisive former president while much of the G.O.P. base remains firmly behind him. Who controls a majority of donors’ cash is set to be a fiercely contested point of dispute as Republicans try to regroup and take back power in the 2022 midterm elections.

ARG! Gab, a haven for pro-Trump conspiracy theories, has been hacked again

No.805087 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2021/03/gab-a-haven-for-pro-trump-conspiracy-theories-has-been-hacked-again/

Beleaguered social networking site Gab was breached on Monday, marking the second time in as many weeks that hackers have gained unauthorized access to a platform that caters to users pushing hate speech and pro-Trump conspiracy theories.

The compromise came to light after someone hijacked the account of Gab founder and CEO Andrew Torba and left a post criticizing him for not paying an 8 bitcoin ransom for the safe return of documents used to verify the identity of some users. The unknown hacker also accused Torba of failing to disclose the full extent of the earlier breach.

Shortly after the first breach was discovered, someone at Gab patched a critical SQL-injection vulnerability that was introduced into the website code by who has been assumed to be the CTO "Fosco Marotto".

Gab has been struggling to stay afloat for more than two years as it continues to provide a haven for hate speech and conspiracy theories. In 2017, Google removed the Gab app from the Play store for terms of service violations. A year later, web host GoDaddy terminated service to Gab after one of its users took to the site to criticize the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society shortly before killing 11 people in a Pittsburgh synagogue.

In 2016/17 a self proclaimed CTO of GabAI, Robert Colbert, moved from Pittsburg to Jupiter, Florida to work with a fellow Trumper by the name of Bradford Williams. For a short time the two worked for the Trump campaign building Twitter bots and creating image based memes. Bradford recently tweeted about the FBI: https://twitter.com/thebradfordfile and in 2017 Colbert posted to Twitter he had been interviewed by the FBI, but it was not clear about what they were investigating.

The danger of a Trump Virus fourth wave

No.801669 View ViewReplyLast 50OriginalReport
https://www.axios.com/coronavirus-variants-vaccines-cases-texas-60d39747-de46-4bb7-bf51-e241c495953a.html

The U.S. may be on the verge of another surge in coronavirus cases, despite weeks of good news.

The big picture: Nationwide, progress against the virus has stalled. And some states are ditching their most important public safety measures even as their outbreaks are getting worse.

Where it stands: The U.S. averaged just under 65,000 new cases per day over the past week. That’s essentially unchanged from the week before, ending a six-week streak of double-digit improvements.

Although the U.S. has been moving in the right direction, 65,000 cases per day is not a number that indicates the virus is under control. It’s the same caseload the U.S. was seeing last July, at the height of the summer surge in cases and deaths.

What we’re watching: Texas Gov. Greg Abbott on Tuesday rescinded the state’s mask mandate and declared that businesses will be able to operate at full capacity, saying risk-mitigation measures are no longer necessary because of the progress on vaccines.

But the risk in Texas is far from over. In fact, its outbreak is growing: New cases in the state rose by 27% over the past week.
Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves also scrapped all business restrictions, along with the state’s mask mandate, on Tuesday. New cases in Mississippi were up 62% over the past week, the biggest jump of any state.
The daily average of new daily cases also increased in eight more states, in addition to Mississippi and Texas.

Alabama disaster plan would deny treatment to those with "severe mental retardation"

No.574687 View ViewReplyLast 50OriginalReport
Some state plans make clear that people with cognitive issues are a lower priority for lifesaving treatment. For instance, Alabama’s plan says that “persons with severe mental retardation, advanced dementia or severe traumatic brain injury may be poor candidates for ventilator support.” Another part says that “persons with severe or profound mental retardation, moderate to severe dementia, or catastrophic neurological complications such as persistent vegetative state are unlikely candidates for ventilator support.”

Donald Trump will protest the 2020 election for years; CPAC is here to help him spread his conspiracies

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/politics/2021/02/27/donald-trump-still-protests-2020-election-cpac-here-help/6843689002/

Donald Trump will probably spend years protesting his 2020 election loss to President Joe Biden – and, if a weekend conference of conservative activists is any indication, most of his supporters are prepared to help him spread conspiracy theories about it.

This year's Conservative Political Action Conference devoted hours to the issue of "Protecting Elections" – code for "voter fraud" – and Trump is expected to hit the theme hard when he addresses CPAC on Sunday afternoon; it's the former president's first public speech since he left office on Jan. 20.

Many CPAC delegates echoed Trump's claims of a "rigged" or "stolen" election, and said he and other potential GOP candidates should make "election integrity" an issue in the 2022 congressional and 2024 presidential contests.

The non white leader of the white supremacist terrorist group Proud Boys was an FBI Informant

n the Miami hearing, a federal prosecutor, a Federal Bureau of Investigation agent and Tarrio’s own lawyer described his undercover work and said he had helped authorities prosecute more than a dozen people in various cases involving drugs, gambling and human smuggling.

Tarrio, in an interview with Reuters Tuesday, denied working undercover or cooperating in cases against others. “I don’t know any of this,” he said, when asked about the transcript. “I don’t recall any of this.”

Law-enforcement officials and the court transcript contradict Tarrio’s denial. In a statement to Reuters, the former federal prosecutor in Tarrio’s case, Vanessa Singh Johannes, confirmed that “he cooperated with local and federal law enforcement, to aid in the prosecution of those running other, separate criminal enterprises, ranging from running marijuana grow houses in Miami to operating pharmaceutical fraud schemes.”

Tarrio, 36, is a high-profile figure who organizes and leads the right-wing Proud Boys in their confrontations with those they believe to be Antifa, short for “anti-fascism,” an amorphous and often violent leftist movement. The Proud Boys were involved in the deadly insurrection at the Capitol January 6.

The records uncovered by Reuters are startling because they show that a leader of a far-right group now under intense scrutiny by law enforcement was previously an active collaborator with criminal investigators.

Washington police arrested Tarrio in early January when he arrived in the city two days before the Capitol Hill riot. He was charged with possessing two high-capacity rifle magazines, and burning a Black Lives Matter banner during a December demonstration by supporters of former President Donald Trump. The D.C. Superior Court ordered him to leave the city pending a court date in June.
