Pedophile accuses others of being pedophiles

No.953809 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
What's up with the pedophiles on the right wing accusing everyone else of pedophilia? Is it a projection thing, similar to the "cuckoldry" insult they are obsessed with? Genuiely curious.

House votes to hold Trump ally Steve Bannon in contempt

No.948708 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
WASHINGTON (AP) — The House voted Thursday to hold Steve Bannon, a longtime ally and aide to former President Donald Trump, in contempt of Congress for defying a subpoena from the committee investigating the violent Jan. 6 Capitol insurrection.

In a rare show of bipartisanship on the House floor, the committee’s Democratic chairman, Mississippi Rep. Bennie Thompson, led the floor debate along with Republican Rep. Liz Cheney of Wyoming, one of two Republicans on the panel. Still, the vote was 229-202 with all but nine GOP lawmakers who voted saying “no.”

The House vote sends the matter to the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington, where it will now be up to prosecutors in that office to decide whether to present the case to a grand jury for possible criminal charges. It’s still uncertain whether they will pursue the case — Attorney General Merrick Garland would only say at a House hearing on Thursday that they plan to “make a decision consistent with the principles of prosecution.”

The partisan split over Bannon’s subpoena — and over the committee’s investigation in general — is emblematic of the raw tensions that still grip Congress nine months after the Capitol attack. Democrats have vowed to comprehensively probe the assault in which hundreds of Trump’s supporters battered their way past police, injured dozens of officers and interrupted the electoral count certifying President Joe Biden’s victory.

Lawmakers on the investigating committee say they will move swiftly and forcefully to punish anyone who won’t cooperate with the probe.

“We will not allow anyone to derail our work, because our work is too important,” Thompson said ahead of the vote.

Ball is in Garland's court now. Arrest this goon and put it on TV. This fucker deserves jail.

Universities Sowing the Seeds of Their Own Obsolescence

No.646542 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
The media blitz during these last several weeks revealed a generation that is poorly educated and yet petulant and self-assured without justification.

When mobs tore down a statue of Ulysses S. Grant and defaced a monument to African-American veterans of the Civil War, many people wondered whether the protesters had ever learned anything in high school or college.

Did any of these iconoclasts know the difference between Grant and Robert E. Lee? Could they recognize the name “Gettysburg”? Could they even identify the decade in which the Civil War was fought?

Universities are certainly teaching our youth to be confident, loud, and self-righteous. But the media blitz during these last several weeks of protests, riots, and looting also revealed a generation that is poorly educated and yet petulant and self-assured without justification.

Many of the young people on the televised front lines of the protests are in their 20s. But most appear juvenile, at least in comparison to their grandparents — survivors of the Great Depression and World War II.

How can so many so sheltered and prolonged adolescents claim to be all-knowing?

Ask questions like these, and the answers ultimately lead back to the university.

Millions of those who graduate from college or drop out do so in arrears. There is some $1.5 trillion in aggregate student debt in the U.S. Such burdens sometimes delay marriage. They discourage child-rearing. They make home ownership hard — along with all the other experiences we associate with the transition to adulthood.

The universities, some with multibillion-dollar endowments, will accept no moral responsibility. They are not overly worried that many of their indebted graduates discover their majors don’t translate into well-paid jobs or guarantee employers that grads can write, speak, or think cogently.

Gabby Petito example of 'missing white woman syndrome,' experts

No.933948 View ViewReplyLast 50OriginalReport
Kind of how I've been feeling.
>In the two weeks since Gabby Petito went missing while on a cross-country trip with her boyfriend, her story has gained national attention.

>Petito's case has made news headlines and gone viral online, with people everywhere trying to find clues and solve the case themselves. Adding to the intrigue in Petito's case is the large social media footprint she left behind as she documented her travels cross-country with her boyfriend, Brian Laundrie.

>Officials confirmed Tuesday that a body found over the weekend near Grand Teton National Park belongs to 22-year-old Petito, but the national fascination with the case continues, as authorities search for Laundrie, currently a person of interest in the case.

>It is a fascination that families of other missing people, particularly women of color, say they wish was turned to their own loved ones' cases.

>"Everybody who is missing loved ones is saying, 'Why wasn't my case done that like?'" said Paula Cosey Hill. "It's very hard because it takes you back to when your child went missing."

>Cosey Hill's then-16-year-old daughter, Shemika Cosey, disappeared without a trace near her home in St. Louis, Missouri, just a few days after Christmas in 2008.

Legislation To Cancel Rent, Mortgage Payments During Pandemic

No.588138 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Sounds like a good idea but we all know Congress with fuck around for months before getting to this and in the process, fuck over bazillions of Americans who will be out on the streets.

Also, there is no need for the government to pick up the check for EVERY American’s mortgage or rent, otherwise we’ll be paying for Jeff Bezos’ dozen mansions.

And I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s some kinda bullshit hidden forced buy-out clause in this bill, requiring landlords to sell their properties, which only guarantees the Reps won’t vote for this and we’re back to fucking over bazillions of Americans…

Omar introduces legislation to cancel rent, mortgage payments during pandemic

Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) has introduced legislation to cancel rent and mortgage payments nationwide amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Omar’s bill would establish a relief fund for landlords and mortgage holders to cover losses from the canceled payments.

Under the proposal unveiled Friday, rent and mortgage payment cancellations would be available for Americans regardless of income. There also would be no debt accumulation for renters and homeowners as well as no negative impact on their credit ratings or rental histories.

Conspiracy expert explains that QAnon believers are nothing new or special

No.945550 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
https://www.rawstory.com/qanon-conspiracy-2655306182/

In an interview with Rolling Stone's Alex Morris, political scientist Joseph Uscinski -- co-author of "American Conspiracy Theories" -- claimed that the QAnon movement that sees the "Deep State" behind any news that disturbs their worldview are nothing new in a country that has long tolerated a minority of people with beliefs that are odds with reality.

While not downplaying how dangerous QAnon believers can be, as the Jan 6th insurrection that led to deaths and destruction showed, Uscinski explained that QAnon isn't turning people into conspiracy kooks -- it is just reaching people who are susceptible to its lure of hidden, and generally bogus, information.

Taking up the question of whether conspiracy theories can take any person down a rabbit hole of misinformation and obsession, Uscinski claimed one has to be predisposed to leave the real world behind.

tRump at private Gop meeting says ‘I'm not into golden showers’

No.945787 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Former President Donald Trump went off on a bizarre tangent on Thursday where he denied enjoying “golden showers” and even suggested that former first lady Melania Trump would agree it’s not something he’d like.

“I’m not into golden showers,” Trump said unprompted in a private speech at the National Republican Senatorial Committee retreat, according to The Washington Post. “You know the great thing, our great first lady — ‘That one,’ she said, ‘I don’t believe that one.’”

At the Thursday dinner the ex-president flaunted his close relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin, and praised Chinese President Xi Jinping's intelligence.
