It may be a spin-off, but the first spin off to actually use the traditional battle engine made by Game Freak, given it's meant to be JUST a fucking battle sim game for PvP and to host VGC (which last I checked ALSO used the actual game Freak battle engine, where shit got stats determined by location, stage of game when encountered (onix with fuckoff high DEF, but little attack, to be a wall for timmy to break down without actually getting in trouble) and intent behind its creation. And all of that means early-route shitmon are meant to be bad, as they're meant to be replaced by other, better (or more favoured) designs and creatures. Biggest fucking issue you cuntrags have is not fucking understanding if you pick a shitmon as your absolute favouritests bro 5EVAR, it's supposed to be that way. Play contrarian games, win contrarian prizes. Or just go fuck off and play one the old-old spin-offs that ignored the trad Game Freak engine and mixed up the framework. You know, one the games where it appeared and was a rape machine, like you think it should be in the core games.
