How can anyone play gen 5 and not think it's the most soulful high effort games GF has ever made.
GF was putting everything they had accumulated up to that point into these games and celebrating their history as a successor to Ape Inc. and the Mother franchise

Honestly, they were the best possible sendoff for the 2D era. Fucking kino. Love them to this day.

Gen 5 is passable, but I do not like the artstyle or the pokemon designs, with a few exceptions.

Yugioh only gets away with it because it keeps releasing sets that make older ones obsolete. However even Yugioh is starting to feel the effects of this. In the long term, this is a dumb strategy that destroys the card game in the long term just because you are a seething little shit that can't get cards.

A few corrections
Gen I would only certainly be 1 reptile, depends on how you want to interpret Charmander's line, Charmander is a fire salamander, Charmeleon could be a fire chameleon, and Charizard is straight up a dragon... which doesn't exist... you could compare it to a reptile, but it would be a stretch...
And as >>58845913 points out Gen XIII would be 2 mammals and 1 reptile, Sobble's design and Inteleon's name connects them very firmly to chameleons

Masuda isn't mainline director anymore after he and Sugimori had a dispute, and the best games were typically made under Masuda's regime which these documents passively acknowledge by saying Game Freak lacked the experience Masuda had.
