I was an oldhead for a long time, but now, my favorite Pokémon is actually Ceruledge. Its design is silly but cool, with its impractical feet and sword-hands. I'm also fond of the way its head-flame resembles the panache of a knight's helmet.
I also admire how defensive and loyal they are towards their trainers, with its Pokédex entry stating that "It swears loyalty to its Trainer. Should anyone dare to show that Trainer hostility, Ceruledge will cut the offender down without a second thought." If a Ceruledge were my companion, I would feel much more safe and confident.
I also like the way it plays in-game. Almost all of my competitive teams have a Ceruledge on it; typically running Swords Dance, Bitter Blade, and Shadow Sneak, as well as a fourth move that varies depending on the team's composition. Combined with Weak Armor and a Focus Sash, it's actually a really efficient sweeper.
It's also one of my favorite colors, purple!
