Do we know anything about the development of ORAS from the Teraleak?

All I know is that ORAS was developed in 1 year by a staff of 100 people. But I know this from regular interviews from the time when ORAS released.

Did the Teraleak reveal some other information about ORAS? Like was the Battle Frontier ever considered, or Trainer Customization, etc?

野良トレーナー (nora toreenaa) leads to pages for generic NPC Trainers, all known as 一般トレーナー (ippan toreenaa; generic Trainers) in contrast to important, named characters.

野良 (nora) means field. 野 (no) means wild, field, plain, etc. and 良 (ra) doesn't have meaning in this particular word, it's just ateji, meaning it's only there for pronunciation rather than meaning, like how the individual kanji for sushi 寿司 don't actually have any individual meaning and were just selected because they could give a pronunciation.
You can compare this to terms like 野生のポケモン (yasei no Pokémon; "wild Pokémon") where the 野 is read as ya, but when combined with 生 (life), gives it the meaning of something that LIVES in the FIELD (ie. outdoors), like a wild animal or stray, so it's wild in that sense rather than just being hard to control. Another word that uses the kanji is 野菜 (yasai), meaning vegetables. Literally field + vegetables/greens to give it a specific nuance.

I haven't actually looked at the leaks, I just assume it's strong general Trainers instead of named important characters like the Battle Chatelaines, characters they wouldn't have to create completely unique designs for.

In that case, I think "Nora Leader" and "Nora Trainer" means strong general Trainers, like you said. Which is exactly what the Type Masters at the Battle Resort are. They're Type Specialists like the Gym Leaders and Elite 4, but their designs are just regular NPC designs.

It helps to play stuff, you'll get a feeling for the language structure at any rate. Pokémon's vocabulary isn't that bad. Once you get used to seeing how sentences are structured, it may be easier for you to actually perceive more complex sentences and not get totally blindsided.

Do some Anki grind for words and kanji, study vocabulary so you can get the context for those words and when to use them (ie. おつり is the change you receive back from a purchase, not the coins you carry around), and do a lot of listening and shadowing.

Even if Nintendo were in the best possible place they'd make another one. They had to let Sakurai have fun with another game before sending him back to the Smash mines because the last time he really got to do something else before Air Riders and three different Smash games was what, Kid Icarus Uprising? A 14 year old game at this point. Honestly let the man work on things other than Smash, he's basically being wasted on a game that's formulaic enough at this point that anyone enthusiastic can make an excellent game. Let him do wack shit like he's been doing since the original Smash/Air Ride, Meteos and Uprising were quite good give or take some input device weirdness.

Legends Arceus released in January 2022, but the first additions from that game (Adaman and Irida) weren't until June 2023. For that matter, the SV DLC came out in September 2023, and the first DLC character added to Masters was Lacey in March 2025.
I'd like to think they'll speed things up because the amount of new characters to add is fairly limited now, but past trends make it seem like it'll be a year and a half long wait.

The current minimum time between game release and first character in masters is a bit under 9 months for SV and the current maximum is around 4 years for IoA. I personally think they'd arrive sooner rather than later because there have been 3 limited kalos units in the past two years.

Kalos “pandering” is probably right around the corner. We haven’t gotten a limited Kalos unit since XY!Dexio/Sina in 2024 (besides the welfare Furisode girls lmao). I’d wager before the year is over if not before Gen 10 releases. If there’s not someone for the February Presents it’s a strong possibility we’ll get someone around August right before the anniversary and also where we historically have gotten a lot of Presents

I think Pixel Art is made to make your brain and imagination fill in the gaps. Once your brain sees something in 3D, it starts to compare it to real life (3D) and not to low-standard drawings (2D).

It's harder to make graphics be on par with our subconscious expectation. We didn't -and still don't- care for the NES and SNES graphics, but we find N64 and PS1 graphics lackluster to today's standard. (In contrast with the fact that we are way more critical to a figure made of poligons, than to a stickman animation.)

Point to the 3d era: it made Pokémon more accesible and popular (that explains the recent sales numbers) because normies and social media can market more a 3D object than a drawing.

That's my opinion.
