long range electric skateboard

No.2050649 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
thinkin of buying a sick old mbs mountainboard with a brake on to make a long distance all terrain electric skateboard
im gonna use a top mounted battery 2 moters (maybe 4wd in the future) and belt drives, big 120mm urethane wheels for all road efficiency, no blutooth remote just a cable and throttle on the brake line for simplicity
but i have no idea about actual electric skateboard stuff like motors batteries and escs tho,
how do i minmax the electronics for maximum range over fairly hilly ground that averages out to be flat maintaining like 10 to 15 mph
and a compact charger for it i can take with me
any recs for parts?
i got money to put into this project for high quality electronics

Bicycle bottom brackets general

Urbanist jannies apparently don't know what "PF" or "BB" stands for, so let me spell it out complete with AI sloppa to conform to nu-/n/ standards

This thread is for discussing a bicycle part called a "bottom bracket", in particular why there was nothing wrong with press fit bicycle bottom brackets, and moreover how it is inappropriate to put a tiny cigarette-butt sized bicycle bottom bracket that was designed for skinny steel bicycle frames, into the bicycle bottom bracket shell of a carbon fiber bicycle frame

Bicycle bicycle bicycle, AI sloppa, happy now? Is that better? YIMBY YIMBY parking minimums, suburbs bad, amsterdam good, there now it's on topic.

>be a noob cyclist
>hear a creaking noise
>could be from anything, pedals, saddle, shoes, whatever
>don't bother fixing it, just conclude based on youtube clickbait that it has to be the "bottom bracket" because in your baby cyclist brain that sounds really mechanical and technical
>repeat it on reddit and get other retards to follow suit
>entire industry abandons a perfectly good standard and is trying to reintroduce antiquated, small-diameter threaded BBs made for steel bikes on modern carbon bikes where it makes no sense
Is the anti-PF cargo cult the greatest psyop in modern cycling history?

California high speed rail doesn't make any sense, the money would be better spent on transport projects that people will actually use in their day to day lives like Caltrain, Metrolink, BART, Muni, LA Metro, SMART, or the Downtown SF rail extension.
The cruel part about all of this is that it's too late to reverse course for the Democratic party and this project will permanently stain the great State of California's reputation.
