Riding Into History - The Final Run of BART’s legacy cars

No.1992466 View ViewReplyLast 50OriginalReport
Today, Bay Area Rapid Transit formally retired the last of its original rolling stock that had been in service since the system opened in 1972. The occasion was marked by speeches from BART officials and a farewell excursion between McArthur and Fremont (where the very first train had run on September 11, 1972). I was there and rode the last train.

Later today /n/ begin our 2025 4chn Spring Babby Cup campaign with our first day opening match against /r9k/. We're the fourth match of the day and the matchday is just about to begin.

We're returning after an absence since failing to advance from the 2024 Autumn Qualifiers. Some minor changes have happened to the roster but our sole new player; Safest mode of travel btw should hopefully debut today.

We have two more group stage matches coming up, one on Sunday against /mu/ and our final group match against /int/ next Saturday.

Team info here: https://implyingrigged.info/wiki//n/

We're also currently looking for a new team manager, get in touch through the above link if you want to take over the helm of /n/ and pilot the team hopefully into this year's elite Summer Cup.

no current bike guy general, so starting one.

opinions on this bike as a beginner gravel/bikepacking/commuter bike? it has a steel frame and sora components (which I assume are easy to change to something better) and seems to take 45mm tires which is good. thinking of negotiating to 700 or so (CAD). my other choice is a alum/carbon fork gravel bike with less tire clearance (older) and 105 components for 875.

My husband is extremely depressed and there’s nothing I can do to cheer him up. He’s an airline pilot and and I try to hype him up about the new destination he’s going to and he can’t even smile. What’s happening with him?
