>>6184549Another solid thread. I was leaning towards Alric taking the Cav Command, but I like Foecourt.
I do like the potential for the Cav Column. If we need to send someone else over towards the farms to help Maxwell, or in raid of the most southern gnoll camps. If we end up with another Night Attack with a similar strategy we should have a signal when a column is getting a full warband so this Cav Column can make for it.
My only reservation with Foecourt is my suspicion that hes an undercover Syndicate asset from his mysterious accent, his presence at Durnholde during the assassin mess, his wanting to understand Alric. Knights and their squires being great cover for getting into important events and around military information, and one did replace a reclusive Knight to get in. His asking for a vanguard position as a way to reach any Syndicate outpost in this region before anyone else can, or to destroy evidence of their involvement at the gnoll camp. Though that would be pretty risky.
That said I can't really see Alric turning him down as he isn't quite that paranoid enough to connect those dots, yet.
Its possible Foecrest is just keeping Alteraci roots on the down low because it would effect his career lol. Solid choice without causing drama. Good to work on him as an ally and someone we could invite on future campaigns, he could bring along other knights and cav with him which would be very handy. Good to give him the glory he asked for.
Maybe we find out. If he make any strange moves what will our observant bodyguard Gravis notice.
1st Column, 190 dudes
2nd Column, 160 and going for basecamp to resupply before going to protect the farm and camp
3rd column 125, Alric
4th column 140, and 4 ballistae
After the camp battle we could maybe do a slight reorganization, grabbing the 30 Durn Mercs from 1st Column for Alric's Column to even things out? Though maybe its fine to keep Durnholders with Durnholders, RD with RD, etc.
I was having a bit of block on what to say to Langston so I didn't get very far
>I've tried to be consistent on what the Garsides raised me with, and taken that to face the challenges around me. For certain theres the thrill of combat...But I got to see a man like Uther take the field, someone that you want to give your all for in spite of history. Then to see neighbors and friends kidnapped? It was something that could only be answered with power of a name and of a sword, and those with the courage to join me.How would the gnoll mage have reacted to Alric giving him a taste of dragon fire? How difficult would that have been against it when it does know counterspells and is pretty fast? Any other notable reactions from those around?
Does each Column have a unit and officer that can manage a delaying maneuver like Alric and the RFG?
Did Beckston get any good exp from his pikemen getting a big Crit in the battle? Is there room for our Mages to develop through combat or do they need some fancy books?
