/dmg/ End of De Minimis General

No.11557892 View ViewReplyLast 50OriginalReport
When do you guys think that Tokyo Otaku Mods and other online retailers will resume shipments to the U.S. As it currently stands we are around 2 weeks in and the current administration has made no effort whatsoever to reverse the ending of De Minimis. Because of this, shipping services like Japan Post have halted all shipments above $100 but below $800 to the United States.

Have you guys pre-ordered anything that is currently in limbo because of this situation? When do you think shipments will resume?

LEGO sucks

brickipedia.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_themes
Looking at sets over the years you can pinpoint the moment the brand went to total dog shit. It's when the sets went from blocky to being smooth and curved with lots of custom parts. What happened between 2000-2007 that made this happen? Was it the Bionicle autists who only wanted to collect action figures? You can see the sentiment went from having creative options to only build the thing on the box.

Are toy guns still a thing? And no, I don't mean nerf guns, I mean the boomer shit that fired little rubber pellets and ejected shells and all that. I could see it being the sort of thing that isn't completely dead but is nowadays very niche and only made by small high quality companies.

I recently found a Japanese website chronicling old toy guns and their relation to the whole airsoft boom, good read if you're into this kind of thing

THE RULES:
-We have e-mails for a reason. USE THEM.
-Be sure to have PRICES (with photos preferably) in your SALE listings - NO "feeler" posts, just post the thing with a price.
-Ignore price-policing posts, as someone will ALWAYS complain. E-mail the seller and communicate accordingly if pricing is an issue.
-I'll save you the effort: check Mandarake, either for pricing (if selling), or for availability (if buying).
-Don't shit-talk buyers or sellers without evidence.

Best way to heat up action figures to swap accessories or unlock articulation?

No.11548995 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Recently purchased my first mythic legion figure and I was having trouble getting the joints to move and accidentally snapped one of the legs. This is probably my fault for not heating it up, so how can I avoid this in the future? I know NECA recommends hot water or hair dryer, but is there any other methods? I don’t own a hair dryer and I’m not sure how I feel about getting a figure wet.
