And those counterfeit markers are really cheap. They're so cheap you can probably get one for free if you ask a friendly owner/manager, if not a used one for a buck.

Also, a black light will make the metallic strips shine in day-glo colors. I think everyone who owns a toy should own a blacklight flashlight, because who doesn't own glow in the dark toys? Shit makes your figures instantly bright.

And I'd be right.

The only reason people don't think it's dated is because LEGO didn't bother to change the style in 40 years and the line has been going non-stop for those 40 years. You can defintely tell the style was started in the 70s or 60s though, since thats when that style was popular (mr men, etc, thanks in part to cartoons at the time having super fucking low budgets and designs needed to become super simple).
If LEGO had dropped that designs for a decade and then came back, it would feel as dated as pic

LEGO is basically the equivalent of if disco clothing didn't stop being popular. It's hard dated, even though it continues to sell.

Actual "evergreen" designs are generally realistic, because as mentioned earlier, styles and taste change from year to year, decade to decade, generation to generation. Realistic will always be evergreen because that's what humans deal with everyday. It's extremely rare for stylized designs to be evergreen and there's going to be a huge amount of disagreement about that too (moebius' and amano's designs are some i'd say are evergreen).

And big hands, big feet, big heads, etc are all kiddie shit (read: cartoony).

In the new era of action figures for Masters of the Universe called Origins. A bold take on the vintage styling of the original figures. Origins launched during a modern plague but managed to catch the attention of new collectors everywhere. Sales were great and Mattel had to expand the line besides the retail arm with online exclusives on the Mattel Creations site. During the sale for the Savage He-Man named Wun-Dar, the surge of collectors overloaded the system on sale day and caused it a sell out in under a minute but also damaged the sale site. The listing came back up shortly after but every single one of those orders were canceled. Wun-Dar’s aftermarket quickly exploded to $120-150 on sale sites which upset the fanbase who was not able to get him. One fan who had enough intended to punish the Mattel team who was celebrating the quick sell out. Using the power of Rule34 and the reach of Linkedin, he managed to dig up pornographic fan art of probably the ugliest MOTU character, old Madam Razz. He announced on the MOTU General on /toy/ of his intention and launched a furious assault against the Mattel team using their emails. Not being able to bear the sight of her saggy purple tits and gray haired purple pussy taking loads of dick, Brand Manager Josh Graham quickly announced they would run a made to order sale for another run of the figure so any fan who wanted one would get it. Razz Poster’s identity is anonymous but he stands vigilant with AI Razz porn waiting for Mattel to mess up again.
