>>10476594When your trying to argue that $20 toys btfo $60+ toys, you've created a huge standard, so don't get mad at me for pointing out flaws in your arguments. Also, really rich to cry "nitpicking" from you, but of course your too conceited to see the irony (and hypocrisy).
I'm well aware of how McFarlane performs throughout the years. I wasn't clear on what I meant when I said "varies wildly", and that's on me (notice how I admitted fault? It's called humility, you should try it). I meant to say that it varies by line, as in some lines McFarlane can go hard on sculpt and paint, but lack in articulation. Or it could go with amazing sculpt and articulation, but lack in paint. Etc etc.
The following are examples of McFarlane figures that I have, and exemplifies my points;
Space marine/necron warrior; have decent sculpts, very good articulation, but very minimal paint apps. Improved greatly from just a black wash and silver dry brush.
Cuddleteam leader and black knight; very good articulation, decent sculpt and paint apps. Not all details are painted, but broadly done well enough. Same for sculpt. All round very good, though.
Halo 4 elite and Spartans; very good sculpts, with all sorts of fine details around, but only a modest paint app, and terrible, terrible articulation. Might have well been statues, but then they'd be severely lacking in paint for such. Pretty poor all around.
MK spawn; Todd loves his boy, as it has the paint everywhere it should, but admittedly he doesn't have that much need for a complex paint app. Articulation was decent, and became a lot better with some slight spicing here and there. All around very good right out of the box.
Doom slayer and marauder; very good sculpts, finely detailed. Decent articulation, but it should have been WAAAY better. Paint is also middle, as it was mostly effective use of washes and dry brushing, rather than specific application. Middling figures.
