>not all those wonder are lost ;)
I'm so fucking tired of instagram and tiktok women in the traveler scene. I'm tired of the faggy "spiritual" men who orbit them too.

gear recs

No.2817596 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
I'm planning a thru hike of the AT next year and I need some recommendations on gear. I'm trying to be as budget friendly and cheap as possible but I realized the piece of shit tent I bought online is not going to cut it for 6 months in the woods.

I've got a fairly reliable bag but I'm lost with the tent. Anyone have any experience with tarps? That seems like a really bad idea what with bugs and animals

Any other recs for gear would be appreciated along with other tips/tricks; /out/ has been giving great advice so far and I appreciate it a ton

Has anyone here ever bought one of these all-in-one emergency radios with a built-in flashlight, phone charger, crank motor, etc.? And if so, which one would you recommend? I've heard that some of the cheaper ones suck because they don't have replaceable batteries, are there any on AliExpress and the likes that do?

Despair

Hey, I had something on my mind and figured some anons here would understand and have thoughts to share about it. I'm an ecologist and have worked in conservation for years; it's hard not to think about the decline of life on Earth that has only quickened in the last hundred years or so. I try to focus on preserving the fragments that remain, but recent events have just made it clear that technological advances will come for everything eventually, and anything that remains will be decimated. These thoughts plague me both in my work and leisure; I find it increasingly difficult to live in this world and every attempt to make peace with it feels so fake. Do y'all ever feel this way? What's the cope? Responses from other ecology professionals are especially appreciated, for the sake of realism.
