What projects, events, or excursions have you been up to or have planned?

It's not done yet imma add some more logs and raise the wall, and I'll improve the roof cuz rn it's just a tarp (that collapsed on me halfway thru the night). I would have finished it then but I was drunk and didn't wanna fuck around with an ax when I could barely stand. Once it's finished I might try and build an actual decent cabin in the area

and why dont they have a cyanide emergency suicide kit with them? I just heard about a guy who was trapped 3 weeks in a cave and died from starvation. Three weeks of total darkness and hunger sounds pretty scary.

How big of a hinderance is veganism when it comes to consistently living out in the wilderness? I've been a vegan for over a decade. Get all of my macros. Pretty fit / in great shape. Etc. But say I were to go camping a couple of months at a time and I wanted to supplement the food I bring with foraging, etc. Is veganism really going to hamper my ability to remain healthy out in the great outdoors? Or, is this just something I can plan for and still have a meaningful experience outdoors without the hunting and fishing aspect too?

Ran into a mountain lion today in the Monongahela National Forest around the Bartow area of WV. Pretty freaky encounter. I could see it stalking me off in the distance, immediately started backtracking slowly while facing it. Probably kept sight of it on and off for a good 20-30min. Apparently these things aren't supposed to be on the east coast but some manage to wonder this far over according to the forest ranger I talked to once I got back to my truck. Might see on the news about them capturing it in the next week or so here as he said they will have to post the area and start to try to trap it.

What's a good parka to get? Any ol reliables? I'm mostly /out/ in the U.S northeast
