I like the idea of making my own low-tech gear for camping. Mainly, I'm talking about clothing and shelter. Boots, warm clothes, and a tent, made by hand out of natural materials.

How can anyone be scared of bears? If one of them charges you, just stick it with a big knife. Bunch of nancys around here! In all my years of outdooring, I've never been scared of a bear. Damn things are just big mouses, probably kick it in the snout and it'll get spooked.
