I'm looking for a snowy mountain hotel / ski resort to stay at for a week this February. I don't plan to ski, just to hike. Any anons have suggestions?

Ideal area would be northern Italy, Switzerland, Austria, that kind of spot.

Snorkeling

What's a good snorkeling mask for beginners?
Is there anything materials or quality-wise I should look out for when browsing masks/snorkels/fins, or are the generic ones from Amazon good enough?

Imagine being a vegantard seeing this beautiful, succulent orange salmon fillet and NOT thinking the universe has put it there to be consumed and enjoyed by man

/out/'s favorite bear gun

What would you use in case you come across one of our furry friends? I currently have a Remington 870 in 12 gauge and I'm saving up for a 44 magnum of some sort, not sure which one yet. Also not sure if this was more of a /k/ thing but I figured I'd try it here since it has to do with defending against beasts while /out/ting.

do you think these are worth repairing?
I got them like a year ago, but I wore them every day over the summer and now both boots are very slowly coming apart at the seams
Other then that tho, they are very comfortable, and have caused no other problems
I tried to shoddily sew them back up multiple times when I was out, but getting the needle through the leather was really annoying, and they came back apart after like a month
Like if I sent them to a tailor or something, do you think I would be able to get a lot more use out of them?
I don’t want to get a whole ass nother pair of boots if I can fix these for cheaper

Previous Rudy Thread >>2750015

Recently, I had a poor wood dUck brought to me,
Do any of you guys ever see
Young motherless animals while out?

Anybody ever rehab a poor baby lost without its mother? Show me your critters give me some more advice for keeping the smug little ducker alive happy and healthy so hopefully it can rejoin the wild.

Status Update: Rudy is doing well and thriving. I took a stick to the eye and have to get reconstructive surgery

Fulltime outdoor living

No.2793181 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
I want to live outdoors fulltime, away form people and civilization. I'm big into fitness so I want to learn how to hunt and find enough food to manage my calorie intake, as well as source natural salt, etc. Survival schools cost like 6000$, so I might have to manage with just books.
Some book recs I got are:
>John Plant: Primitive Technology
>Wilderness First Aid (fourth ed)
>SAS Survival handbook
>Books on plant identification
>etc
How would one go about learning hunting and trapping? Fishing is easy enough, but I don't think I could be sustainable with that skill alone.
I've already been scouting some potential places in Eastern Nevada, Maybe Utah, and North Carolina seems like the best choice in the event of any world trembling catastrophes.
