On big mountains you have established trails made in such a way hundreds of people who hike them every day don't die. On small mountains you're usually alone and instead of a trail there are just steep slopes covered with dirt that falls down under each of your steps and to descend you need to use your ass as a sledge and all limbs as brakes.

>>2847435 I had my sketchiest hike on an unassumingly small mountain, yeah. Realizing you can't go forward or back the way you came because of the the terrain, it's beginning to rain and daylight is soon running out. That's scary. It made me understood how people can fall to their deaths in these situations.

I think that higher elevation mountains can get really intimidating with weather, and way higher commitment just due to the increased distances from the car. Some of the more isolated ranges in Wyoming have several mile walk ins and if the weather turns bad, or you get hurt it can be potentially life threatening very easily even with sar. But you can just as easily fall off some weird exposed section on smaller mountains in the east as in the west. I think the issue is primarily a matter of human traffic. Mountains with more foot travel regardless of height get ground in and trundled so there seems to be way less risk of falling rocks or bad footings in exposed spots. But there are also more people which comes with lots of problems of it's own. Like having to get cocksucking parking permits and other gay shit in Colorado.

I planted way to many fucking basil seeds. should I just yank a couple of the little fags out? or try to transplant them like this? I think theyre close to being ready to move to a pot but Im afraid they'll start dying from lack of nutrients/space in the little plot

true leaves are finally in, maybe 2 more days before I pull and plot. other herb seeds finally showing real growth too. not gonna lie, coming home from work and seeing how much theyve grown is kind of the only thing I have to look forward to in my life. I think I love plants.
>>2847941 >>2847970 this sounds good but all the resources online seem to say you should grow them in a cool place but the fridge should only be for storing afterwards since its too cold, still Ill look further into it.

Due to local laws it's not a good idea to carry a locking blade. I've seen examples of slipjoint knives that don't lock but at the same time won't close in on somebody's hand when in use.

As a europoor that spent 8 months this year working in NM, I thought it was pretty cool. Got shipped home the week before I was planning to go up to Taos but I was up in the Sandias pretty much every Saturday. Once you started early and overtook the few fuckers near the bottom of the trails you could easily walk for 20 miles and see hardly any people besides the odd cunt that took the cable car up to waddle down. Weather was pretty hot compared to home but the low humidity meant sweat was sucked off me pretty much as soon as it left my body. It was weird being surrounded by the smell of pine in sunny 35C weather. Went up Ladron peak a few times as well and that was a decent challenge, especially before I acclimatised to the altitude. Took pic related from the summit. Probably be back in the states in February but looks like I'll be heading for Austin. As far as I can tell Texas is just a big flat load of nothing but if anyone can recommend anything around there to do.
