This one is no bullshit. See the 2 buttons? The first one is just a simple "on/ON/off" function with no flashing bullshit. Bright, very bright, off. Then the second button has all that other shit.

I will say that the red light is good because i can walk around pretty well in the dark while also being a lot more hard to see by others, just a dim red light pointing out the immediate lanscape.

Unfortunately, no, they are not. They're called satan's boletes because of the red color on the pore surface, but also because it's one of the boletes that will make you sick. They won't kill you or do any permanent damage, but they will cause gastric distress. I have read online that they can be eaten if par boiled and leached a few times. But I don't know anyone brave enough to put that to the test, including myself. And all of the books I have say to just avoid eating it.

Anything I should lookout for? Obviously i want a maintained roof and no prior leaks.
Im looking at 4-6000 campers right now and wondering if I might as well drop 8-12k
I already have an outdoor kitchen,
Maybe I will build a roof or porch for it.

Will you be paying your friend rent or utilities? Let's just say you will be paying your friend a few hundred bucks a month to park that POS eyesore on his property and connect to his utilities.

That, combined with you spending $8k on a trailer, another few thousand fixing and maintaining it, and you are in rent territory with none of the benefit of an actual roof over your head.

Unless you have some reason to live in a trailer (drugs, most likely), you can rent a room in a house with roommates for $600 a month, depending on the city, everything included. I don't know anything about the used trailer market, but I don't imagine those pieces of junk hold their value very well. You must really value privacy to make that tradeoff.

Remember that deaths or serious injury from these kind of things are largely limited to the elderly or kids or already sick. A healthy adult will do fine, or at least the odds arent much different than other freak accident odds people accept while out like lightning or trees falling. Just check for them in and around your shit.

To answer the medical question, for an /out/ trip all you can really do is bring sting relief cream/wipes to lessen the pain of a possible sting. Or pay for a gps device to have an sos at all times.

Like the other anon said, it's only life threatening if you're a little kid, super old, or weak. The antivenom wasn't commonly available until recently. My wife got stung by one and her doctor basically told her to just suffer. She kept the scorpion as a pet for a while.

thats a pretty cool area. there is a nice beach across the road. and limekiln is cool. Naciemento-Ferguson rd gets you way up into the hills but could be sketchy in big rain. Same with Plaskett ridge rd- worth checking out. there probably are less people coming from the south but you'd be missing some pretty cool stuff. I love big sur. I miss it. enjoy.

Depends on what you want to do and what you want to see. Daytime temperature will be nice but it is likely to be wet; not a bad thing since it means that it will be a lot greener and the cold will keep the bugs more away.

The trails in the Ventana wilderness aren't maintained well and require a good amount of bushwhacking, but you'll be completely alone. Map out your water sources before you backpack.

The coastal highway tends to close on the regular due to landslides.

I day hiked Ventana Double cone last January and it was a miserable 32 miles, but the sunset and views were world class and I only saw two people near the trailhead by the end,
