If there's one thing I like about America, it's how much nature they have. So many National Parks, so many forests, so much wildlife. If you're American, you're definitely lucky.

What are we going to do about RV users? There is something deeply sick about these people who drive pretending they are camping in these things.

How would you camp in the north eastern Victorian wilderness in and around Mount Buffalo?

I would build a permanent structure out of earth bags. You can carry them all with you and build when you find a comfy spot.

There are the big general purpose ones, Intuit, clover etc and several agriculture specific ones, farmraise, ambrook etc. any recommendations? I need receipt scanning capability, expense totals, invoice generator, and ideally inventory count but don't really want my livestock data shared with big brother.
Anonymous
Quoted By:
There is little to no need for "farm specific" accounting software. Just normal accounting software covers 95% of your needs. If you want a farm management software, then it will depend on the type of farm you have.

Excel. If you want to know farm laws and loopholes and shit go take some courses at an ag college. Or get to know other local farmers and talk shop. Old time farmers will tell you how the government pays you. Your software wont.

Below Antarctica are multiple gigantic mountain ranges. Do you think there will ever come a time when humans will finally hike them in all their glory without 1000m of ice being on top of them?

>>2841150 >bring CO2 levels back to preindustrial times pic related?
Anonymous
>>2842000 Actually the Carboniferous period was a time of high atmospheric oxygen. This is why insects were able to grow so massive. Also the higher oxygen content allowed wildfires to reach continental scale (hence your pic related). This allowed the formation of all the oil and coal beds, hence the massive carbon deposits we have today. Hence, "Carboniferous".
You'll notice in geology and paleontology things tend to get named for what they left behind and not so much what was actually going on back then.
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>2842055 The warmer periods within the carboniferous had elevated CO2 levels as well which rose and fell with the glacial advances and retreats during that time.

Any ABQ locals around? I'll be passing through next week and am wondering where's the best place to watch the balloons that doesn't require a ticket. I'm willing to hike but from what I can tell from pictures they stay pretty low.

Those fucking balloons will be visible from most of the city though really.
Anonymous
>>2842633 I don't live there but I went to the balloon park or what it's called one day and then me and my mom drove around Abq to see them. Look at where the wind is blowing and then try to reach the higher points towards the mountain or on the west side of the Rio Grande. Sandia Resort and Casino has free parking (at least last year) and gives you a good view towards the balloon fiesta park. Pic is from the casino

In Russia people build these small cabins in the woods without any permits. It's not really illegal but it's not legal also but the forest service don't really mind even though they have all rights to destroy them. It's kind of a grey area when it comes to law about them. And people use fallen trees to make logs for it( can't cut wood in Russia without permission). It's not a private property and anyone can stay in them when they want or need to spend the night of they are too tired to get home. They have wood burning stoves and can be a real life saver when it's cold, you can find some dry food and firewood inside left from the previous visitor and they expect you to do the same if possible for the next guy that comes there. Nothing fancy and not all of them are in their best shape but it's much better than a tent. Not sure about other countries but it's a big NO NO in the west. Also most of them are miles deep into the woods so the local bums can't get there easily and make a mess. Just thought I'd share it.
Some video of some Russian guy doing this .

In America the rangers here would have a field day ripping these down and Encon would have you prosecuted for all kinds of environmental laws. Jealous of our “freedom”?
Anonymous
>>2843708 Yeah it's kinda crappy over here with all the laws and strict rules. It's not like you want to build a house on someone's property or government property. We are talking a basic shelter that's not even occupied most of the time here.

I think in reality what makes these not work is modern societies general greed as if you were to publicly post the locations of the ones where I am they would be destroyed in short order so its a its you know you know thing.
