Haven't been on this board in like 4 years, is the guy who used to make these patches still around?

Bringing Nature to new Suburbs

No.2833822 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Lets say you just bought a house in one of these cookie cutter suburbs that are being thrown up all over America currently. What are you doing to make the best of the land that you got, assuming you have a laid back HOA? Are you planting or building anything?

anyone else copping the Bosideng x Acronym collection? It is supposed to be much more /out/ than Errolson's usual stuff. I know a lot of people here said Acronym was really weak and fell apart for the price but maybe this collab stuff will be better?

Abandoned coal mine sadness

No.2835376 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Anyone else avoids exploring abandoned structures because it makes you sad? Human existence has always been decay, upheaval and rebirth. I'm not stupid. The house I live in will at some point be the shitty part of town, probably condemned by an uncaring developer for gay investment properties. But still, it feels way worse for industrial buildings and mines. They got us here as a society. Their coal fuelled the little power and transportation our ancestors had even 4 generations ago. All that was done with next to no safety equipment, in steep shafts and w/ no guarantee it won't collapse. Knowing that, I just feel so sad over all of those involved; the equity holders who had to risk those operational risks in a pre-diversification financial economy at a shitty 2.5 beta.

>the slowest hiker in the group sets the pace

Should this apply 100% of the time or is there some nuance? What if the slowest hiker in the group is also super experienced, has excellent navigational abilities, is comfortable hiking in the dark, and has no problem staying overnight in a tent/hammock/bivy if needed? Would it be the end of the world if the experienced but slow hiker were in the back of the group and could go at his own comfortable pace? The way I see it, the "slowest hiker in the group sets the pace" mantra only applies to inexperienced hikers who could get in serious trouble if he/she were separated from the pack. What say you, anons?

Why does the Caribou Targhee National Forest never get talked about? Is it because its completely overshadowed by the Teton Mountains and Yellowstone which are about 10 minutes and 30 minutes away respectively?
