Clueless Faggot
General for Cars, Bikes, Motorsport, and anything else /o/ worthy. I don't give a fuck if they aren't masterpieces, I want to see it. Went to a decently popular race at the local track the other day, and it was quite a fun experience. I learnt a lot, and really started to understand things better as I went. These aren't top-tier photos by any means, but fuck it, I'm enjoying it and that's all that matters. A few fuck ups on my behalf: A monopod without a head is a bitch to use properly. Dust in the sensor halfway into the day, reeeee. Focal Length is no replacement for getting close enough. Most of it shot on my RF 100-400 f/5.6-8 on an R50.

>>4425241 Dutch angles really went well with lots of the scenes. The lighting was good, my technique was getting more consistent, and having a zoom lens on hand instead of a prime meant I was getting composition right OOC. Positioning and technique was the most important factors at play. Even if nothing came out perfect, I truly was enjoying this and getting better.

>>4425245 As an aside. I tried speaking with a few other photogs there. Every Vietnamese vlogger and boomer with their old 70-200s was seemingly here, so I thought it might be a good chance to have a chat. Every. Single. Person just used the excuse to fag on about their gear. One person actually got talking to me about composition and idea, and it was only after I brushed off his questions about my gear.
It was disappointing really. Dozens upon dozens of photogs, and all anyone wanted to talk about was how much thier lens cost.

You do not have to stay loyal to one ecosystem. They don’t tell you this but you can simply sell all your gear on the used market and buy a complete set on the used market.

Unless you are a literal professional, you don’t need to be in an “ecosystem” at all. Amateurs that own a bazillion different lenses probably gravitate to like 2 primes 90% of the time anyway. Only insane people or professionals should have enough lenses to be financially tied to a camera system.

>>4425061 Agreed that professionals shouldn't do this constant ecosystem hopping strategy. It's only fun for hobbyists.
But many professionals for sure would be better off with a few good lenses instead of a catalogue.

I made a custom Gemini that is designed to analyze photography from a neutral perspective. Every single photo that I put into it gets a 4.5-5.5/10. If I don't use the rule of thirds, it bitches about me not using the rule of thirds. If I do use the rule of thirds, it conveniently doesn't even mention it. I don't think AI is truly capable of critiquing a photograph in the same way that a human is, but it's really the only way I can get actual feedback on my photos. I do worry about refining my style in the wrong way; attempting to appease the AI instead of just doing what I like. Does anyone else do this?

I'm compiling a list of ILC 'enthusiast level' cameras that have both IBIS and a 90degree (minimum) tilting screen. I've excluded budget or entry level models like the Olympus PL line or triple digit Panasonic's. I have also excluded 'pro' level gear like the Nikon z8/z89 and Fuji GFX cameras. I have also excluded all Sony cameras because I am not interested in buying a Sony. Sony: Don't care. Sigma: None. Canon: None(?) Nikon: z5 z6/ii z7/ii Panasonic: S1/R* GX85 GX9 Olympus Pen E-p7 Pen E-p5 E-M10/ii/iii/iv Fuji X-H1 X-T5* Pentax: K-1/ii* KP ------------ *3-axis tilt I'm sure there are still quite a few that I missed. If you know of anything please let me know.

>>4422378 For real, the peak photographer body is a mountain of fat, an immobile hamplanet. The wind and vibrations caused by passing traffic may make his fat rolls jiggle slightly, but these vibrations are quickly dampened, unable to move his unfathomably heavy core, like a tripod with a backpack full of lead pulling it down to the earth, he is binding the camera to a fixed point in space with the force of gravity. Breathing, the beating heart, all of those moving parts in a human body are insulated under a thick layer of fat, making them cause minimal vibrations outside the soundproof shell.

The general consensus seems to be they're identical, spec-wise. Which body would be more capable for motorsport photography, though?

Looking at buying one of these for a photography uni project. I’m majoring in design and have absolutely no clue how to use a film camera. Would it be easy for a moon like me to get used to it in a week to make a photo book with? What should I be cautious of?

XA2 probably the better option if you want a Trip 35 but in the smaller factor with the additional shutter speeds

>>4412598 I like Technology Connections too, but there are way better first film cameras. Zone focus is mega gay and difficult for a beginner, and these things tend to have a bunch of other issues. I would recommend getting an SLR so you can have full manual focus and actually see how focus and aperture effects your images before you take them.

This thread is about image correction.

>>4420238 But then IBIS won't work as well, right?
Anonymous
>>4420753 What do you mean? Many cameras with IBIS will allow you to input the focal length, so contacts are not required
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>4420754 True. But do you still get the 5 axis IBIS then or are you limited to 3 axis? And does manually inputting the focal length work as well as the automatic function? Since many lenses aren't exactly the same focal length they are advertised as (for example the Sigma 35mm f2 is a 32.5mm in reality).

What's the point of this type of posing/facial expressions (pic rel)? It's common on social media and, as far as I know, mainly among women. I guess its origin is in the modelling industry. Well what is it trying to convey? To me it comes across as completely devoid of any emotion and consequently purposeless and pretentious.
