So now that the dust has settled and it's clear that digital photography is past it's peak. Which of these was the pinnacle of digital photography? They are both excellent cameras in their own right but who is goated with the sauce /p/?

>>4416392 >That pentax/nikon shill again C'mon lil bro, we already agree Canon had the best cameras :)

>>4416442 canon never made a dslr as advanced as pentax or nikon. They gave up too soon.

Opinions on the Leica Q3 43? Never owned a Leica and now I'm thinking of selling all my Fuji GFX gear and buy this one. I don't shoot professionaly and mainly my family, nature, travel, food, .. And most lenes are just collecting dust, I mainly shoot around 40mm. I believe that I can easily live with just that one focal length. No more bringing all gear, less weight, cool ass looking camera. I know a A7CR with that 40mm 2.5 would much cheaper but I tried and never liked Sony cameras. The shutter sound, haptics, etc. even if AF and IQ is pretty nice.

Now that the dust has settled, who is the goat of digital cameras? The K-1 or the d780? These cameras unquestionably represent the peak of digital cameras. But which one is superior?

>>4416296 >These cameras unquestionably represent the peak of digital cameras Wrong, the D850 is superior to the D780.
Also the very best DSLR is the K1 mk. I, it is ironically better than the mk. II due to lack of baked-in NR purple tinge at higher ISOs.

I am going to try developing my own black and white film. I am thinking to buy HC110, is this a massive fuckup? I want high contrast results and I do not want to fuck around having to store 5L of liquid like other developers. HC110 sounds like I can just syringe out what I need when I develop a roll or 2. Also I am planning to push my negatives hard when shooting.

Maybe it's my autism at play here but isn't it nuts how even 25 years ago, film was THE way to capture moments? Now we have instant satisfaction with unlimited exposures and 4k video. Makes me realize how we're dopamine fiends, I guess. Even a 1 hour photo lab would be too long nowadays.

>>4415332 it's not true, since if you consider PDAF interpolation to be "fake pixels", then so is Bayer interpolation. By that metric essentially every digital camera on the market has "fake pixels" (except for monochrome cameras and Foveon).

>>4415392 If you think you can tell the difference between a 24 MP image and a 23 MP image, you're full of shit (and that's assuming PDAF rows don't contribute at all to the image, which is not true)

>>4415284 >yoy film and camera sales keep increasing Yes; film sales were effectively 0% of the market ten years back and enthusiasts have pushed that up a few percent. It's the same situation with vinyl but it doesn't indicate at all that people will be switching back.
To think otherwise is pathetic cope.
Anonymous
Quoted By:
>>4416267 Vinyl will probably stay niche but i suspect film will keep going up for quite a while until one day people are surprised to find a major manufacturer resurrecting a dead line because mirrorless and dslr are irrelevant to all but a niche market due to phone camera dominance

Anyone shoot microscopic or astrophotography?
Anonymous
I tried attaching a dslr to a trinocular port on a compound microscope with no intermediate optics, but it looked like dogshit compared to what I saw in the 10x eyepiece. I've tried extension tubes to make it parfocal, opening the diaphragm, upping the shutter speeds. It didn't look like any sort of motion blur, just really low resolving power. Even live view tethering was just as awful. Anyone have ideas why?

Quoted By:
>>4413592 Dunno about trinocular, but the $11 chink microscope adapter I have collecting dust is used with ocular. Two parts, one to put over microscope which takes the eyepiece and other with the camera over that. For photography lower magnification like 2x eyepiece is supposed to be better than 10x. (I'm not an expert and last time I used it was more than decade ago.) Anonymous
