>go to look up micro43rds stuff
>all the stills reviewers are either 70 year old boomers or some flavor of brown.
>all the portrait samples are of ugly people
>only time someone like peta pixels talks about micro43 is for video
why is it just boomers and browns? the 20mm pancake and 75mm are pretty convenient on the smaller bodies.
>muh dof
the compression on the 75mm alone can give you good enough separation from the background for portraits. its a 150mm f/3.5. tons of people do portraits with 70-200mm f/4 lenses or 70-200mm f/2.8 lenses stopped down a stop
the 20mm isn't even bad either considering all the people who jerk off to their contax t2
20mm f/1.7 is 40mm f/3.5. A contax t2 is a 38mm f/2.8 you literally cannot set to f/2.8 and I'm sure the way that thing is programmed its shooting at f/8 or f/11 when in auto mode and only dropping the aperture when the shutter drops below 1/125th or something

What's the deal with payed presets

No.4404751 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Why does this shit fly with anyone? Why would anyone pay so much for it?
Why is it impossible to torrent preset packs anymore? Why doesn't anyone upload them? It's literally just .xmp and .dcp files - it's fucking impossible to even drm or monitor their use.
I feel like I'm losing my mind, the newest shit you could pirate is VSCO shit from 10 years ago

Just bought pic related (Canon 8-15mm f/4L EF Fisheye USM Lens). Should I have bought off brand instead? I have a Canon R8 and want to shoot some creative wide lens stuff.

Propaganda Photography

No.4405470 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
For several years in my youth I thought I wanted to be a news photographer. I ultimately didn't pursue it because by the time I was entering the workforce, there was already degeneracy left and right, and I didn't want to deal with that.
Now, years later, I realize what I really wanted to become. What I should have become. A propaganda photographer. I am very political. I'm also overjoyed to see right wing and libertarian politics slowly but surely succeed in many civilized countries. I like the job I have now, but documenting the rise of a new regime, helping it along from behind the camera... that's what I'd consider my dream job.

Would I be retarded for buying this for filming?

I borrowed a Canon R8 and 35mm f1.8 for my YouTube channel. I absolutely loved using it over my old EOS-M.
I had zero complaints after filming about 4 hours of automotive repair footage.

I made a shutter speed tester

No.4394539 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
It's essentially a copy of the PhotoPlug that doesn't cost €35, it plugs into your phone's 3.5mm jack and masquerades as a microphone while using an app called Shutter-Speed. I'll show you how to make it for less than $10:

What you'll need:
BPX38: https://a.aliexpress.com/_ooNVS3N
3.5mm male 4-pole (TRRS): https://a.aliexpress.com/_okCBOkR
4.7k ohm resistor: https://a.aliexpress.com/_oCb7WGP

Instructions:
Step 1: Take the 3.5mm plug and bridge the sleeve (mic) and ring (ground) next to it with your 4.7k resistor.
Step 2: Your phototransistor has an emitter, base, and collector lead. Snip off the base.
Step 3: Solder the BPX38 in parallel to the resistor. Make sure the emitter is connected to the ring, and that the collector is connected to the sleeve.
Step 4: Cut off the cable strain reliever and screw the plastic cover back on.

There ya go, enjoy not having to worry about exposure guesswork with your mechanical film cameras anymore.

What is it about nature that every living human seems to be able to appreciate from an aesthetic standpoint?
What does it take to be a truly great nature/landscape photographer? Anyone can snap a photo of a stunning landscape and receive praise despite not providing any actual input or effort into the photograph.
How do you go above and beyond in this day and age?
