What are some recommended books to gain knowledge about photography? I'm thinking of buying this one, but the old publishing date makes me a bit wary.

Nikon's Capture NX-D version 1.6.4

No.4456276 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Does anyone have this in their archive? Nikon's move to give its customers the dry shove and forcibly remove all installs of previous software from the entire internet (even archive.org) left us all relying on whatever we had already downloaded, but I just went to copy it off my horrendous spinny drive, watched it hang, and in a moment of ass-brain superposition, connected my backup to pull it from, which then immediately hung too. You know the rest, refused to unmount for 6 hrs, hard shut down, came back up & all drives lost their TOC's & recovery is fragment soup. Oh Apple, how I love to hate you sometimes.

If anyone has Capture NXD 1.6.4 to upload somewhere, you have a rare artifact that everyone with a rare 17" MBP needs to make use of our sexy classic computors, and I will offer all the gross sloppy disgusting oral sex you can bear to stomach, or very a sincere thank you, your choice.

Creating custom LUTs/ICC profiles

No.4449563 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
I've figured out an extremely wonky pipeline of taking a digital photo, exporting it as a linear tiff to a python program that emulates a developed negative of Kodak 250D, and then using Negative Lab Pro to invert it.

It works perfectly but it takes forever, so I want to shoot a color test chart, do the whole process and then build a LUT or profile from the color chart that skips all of the intermediate steps so it can be done in one click in lightroom or whatever program. How can this be done?

Demotivational Subhumans on /p/

No.4455599 View ViewReplyLast 50OriginalReport
Whenever I try to suggest that there is also a world of photography that is outside of social media and how working photographers even now use social media as a promotion of their work which exists in the print space of galleries, exhibitions, awards, grants, photography festivals, photobooks, commission portraits, assignments, print sales, museum archives etc. Then there are some absolute demotivational SUBHUMANS come out from their holes and start whining about jews or nepotism or whatever the fuck. These motherfuckers are on a mission to demotivate everyone to not at least try, to not take photography seriously, to not make connections in the real world, to not meaningfully engage with the world around them, to stop them from at least trying to get into the photo industry and shooting your shot at making a career, to stop them from desiring to reach a bigger audience, to stop them from viewing their work as something important, meaning and immortal...

These subhumans never want any anon to have a career. They want them to stay powerless, without any connections as some defeated and failed photographers which nobody know about. They keep preaching this disgusting defeatist bullshit.

To any newfags reading. Fear not the defeatist filth of these vermin. Life is hard but it's worth the try. Go grab life by the fucking balls. We're gonna make it.
