Seriously, with this one comment and your examples you've proven you don't know shit other than spec fagging and can't apply personal experience in the learning process. You understanding of photography doesn't extend beyond "These conditions specify these settings, as evidenced by the maximum amount of detail captured," without being able to comprehend why this detail or that detail is going to result in a more desirable image.
And, thus, you reduce your failure of being unable to produce a decent image not as a failure of your own judgement, but a failure of the camera's dynamic range.
This is a high contrast scene. It's a challenging shot for any camera, but people have been doing this shit since CCD sensors and even consumer film with less than 10 stops of dynamic range. You have 12 stops on the RP, or 4-16x the amount of dynamic range as consumer film or CCD sensors.
A better camera with 14 stops of dynamic range isn't going to significantly help you here OP. It's still going to fuck the best of cameras. Sunlight is FUCKING BRIGHT. You need to learn how to handle high contrast scenes.
