A wholesome thread ages ago where people just posted about their lives, really great and wanna put one up. Whats going on in your lives at the moment anons?

I'm studying at an institute i've wanted to for a while and its great. Some shit in life's hard at the moment but they're all new problems i've never experienced before at least.

I feel like I've lost my mind lately. I feel so unmotivated that I have stopped talking to a girl I really liked and I feel like me and my best friend are falling apart. I don't know what to do anymore and I just hope everything gets back on track asap

I've had this dream where i was with this girl that i really liked back in when i was a kid.

Starting a job soon. Will be my first job in about 2 years. Finally overcoming a deep depression and trying to get back into the world and be a better person and give some kindness to others. Have gone through some major philosophical/worldview changes. Optimistic yet wary.

Life has never felt weirder.

I got into several universities that I wanted to and managed to whittle down the list to the two cheapest ones. My grades in almost all of my classes are the best they've ever been. I have a gf and a very comfortable relationship, and I'm flooded with many new exciting opportunities.

And then there's my calc class. I was a dumbass and decided to take AP calc online, but lost motivation halfway through the course and just stopped submitting my work. I kept up studying and feel comfortable with the subject, but my grade in the class might destroy the future that I have built up for myself and I fucking hate myself for letting it get to the stage that it is. I just want off this ride.

My life feels as lifeless as ever, without any meaningful relationships, interests or objectives. I feel alone and fucking lost.

Seriously considering on abandoning Uni, thing is I don't know what to do afterwards. Or what to do now.

I stay positive most of the time, but the alienation sometimes just hits hard and makes me feel like doing nothing but stare at the ceiling.

you got money? try travelling to a place in the world, no money? save up next year really hard and then try it out. i feel as if when life's nothing to offer, go and travel, you'll be meeting too many people to keep track of. There's something special about seeing a new place in life, not sure why, but it's happened to me and some others i know, might be able to undo some knots

Everything is losing meaning. I’m still doing everything I was doing before, but now it doesn’t mean anything to me. I just do things to fill my time not because I want to. I feel like I’m fading away. Can’t find anything good or bad thats happening. I feel nothing. I’m not happy, but I’m not sad either. Before I was angry most of the time but now I don’t even have that.

Be lucky that you don't know how she turned out and that your feelings remained pure and wholesome. In 6th grade, I had this major crush on this one girl. She was perfect, blond hair, blue eyes, and athletic. In addition, she was very charming, funny, smart, caring and overall a wonderful person to be around. I developed a crush on her before even realizing it.

Over the course of the year, we got closer and closer together but right before I was able to ask her out (one of her friends told me that she liked me and dating was starting to catch on) I got the news that I was moving away at the end of the year and decided against doing anything.

She remained in my head as this perfect girl who I just never got the chance to be with, a memory that I cherished during periods of loneliness in my new school. I kept meaning to try and find her on social media or something and catch up on the times, but never got to it.

Anyway like a week ago I was able to meet up with one of my old friends from that school and found out, to my horror, that she became a landwhale feminist who keeps arguing with the school about putting in bathrooms for agender people, and in his words "became batshit fucking crazy."

I feel alone and lost. My best friend of 7 years is moving to Germany, and I'm scared. I don't want her to forget about me.. she's like a sister to me, a sister I never had. I can't even sleep well anymore, that's when I'm truly alone, nobody's there, it's just me and my thoughts. Also I've been missing my grandmother a lot recently. My job is draining me physically and emotionally. And I need this money to pay bills and save up. Life sucks for me right now, and I don't it'll get better anytime soon. Finishing up Uni and it scares the living daylights out of me. I've been so focused on keeping grades up all four years (cum. gpa of 3.43 in an engineering program, even with a catastrophic second semester that resulted in a change of major) that I haven't had the chance to do much in the way of internships between years. The time for applying for them would come and go and before I knew it, summer was right there and I was left looking for an odd job instead of a major-related one. Now, as my last semester winds down to a close, I am still in the same position as the three previous mes, no applications sent out and probably working another odd job until I can find one that is suitable for the long haul. I want to be able to pay back my parents and help them get my three younger siblings through college, since they covered my sorry ass for most of it, but I am afraid I will not be able to do so. I know that isn't the right frame of mind to have, but I still worry.

Lost my previous ASM job for a month trying to make working conditions better. My (former) good friend ratted me out to the manager that I was going to go over his head, which was something I was allowed to do at that job, but he fired me two days before the big meeting. It uprooted my entire life. He made it impossible for me to get government assistance by lying about the facts of my termination and having HR delete my work email account so I couldn't file an appeal with evidence. It put me in such financial straits but things are looking better now that I'm employed again.

But I lost a friend who I really invested in. That betrayal kinda fucked me up. To cope I've been sleeping with people in a self-destructive way. Recently it's been with this one guy that absolutely sucks at sex but gives me enough attention and allows me to feel like none of my life matters outside of the hour we spend together. I've been so depressed, getting high, drinking, being reckless. I don't really know how to get out of my head and stop feeling so self-deprecating. It's like assholes get everything they want in life while good people wilt in their destruction. Not a good outlook, I know but shit is still too raw for me to feel otherwise.

Attending my dream school on scholarship and establishing myself as one of the top students here. It's a lot of work and very stressful, but I really feel like I've found my meaning in life.

Loneliness is still loneliness, but I've been eating healthy and drinking a lot of water, and I've lost 5 pounds in the past week.

Started reading again, and I'm loving the work of Khalil Gibran. His work really makes me feel confident in my direction and development in life.

The weather is getting warmer, I'm getting better, and things are really looking up from here.

Life is fucking awesome.

I'm on a relationship with a wonderful woman, that supports me on almost anything. I'm finishing college this year, too (Biology). I have a pretty good resumé (2 scientific articles, a Springer book chapter and some other stuff too). THe problem is, i'm brazillian, and this is ptobably the worst time to finish college here. Our president is gradually taking away our scholarships (but i'm aware that this started before Bolsonaro, on Michel Temer's government). So, it's almost impossible for me (lower- middle class), to keep researching. I'll try to convince my tutor to let me work while taking my master degree (wich starts next year, if i'm competent enough). So, i'm feeling really bad. I have done a lot of interesting and relevant stuff in all this years, but none of this counts now.

been working a new position at my job (baking) that gives me a much more open schedule compared to what i used to do (i had to be up at 2:15 am for work everyday before), allowing me to have a much more fulfilling social life.
finally getting over a bad breakup that happened right around my birthday / the holidays, winter was really shitty, but i'm really looking forward to the growth and change i'll be experiencing this spring.
Recently started seeing a girl and everything has been clicking and feels really good. we have similar goals, stuff we like and want the same sort of stuff out of a relationship. she's also just super supportive and comforting. She's also probably the most attractive person i've ever been with.
Have also just been working on making positive changes in my life. stopped spending a dumb amount of time watching porn. eating healthier and exorcising. started reading more comics and books. recently got into building gunpla, which has been something i've wanted to try for ages. just in general focusing on my physical and mental health more.

I have an extremely deep interest in space, always have, born and raised in a city enriched with space race heritage (I live really close the plant that won the contract to design and build the space shuttles) my favorite place as a child was the Griffith Observatory. Just a childhood embedded with curiosity of the cosmos and their workings, and a deep interesting in mechanical stuff, I'm a gear head, really into cars, love rockets, planes, etc. Stuff like that. I'm sure others feel it, but when I look at the stars I get this overwhelming feeling, like I'm being called, I cannot stress this feeling like if I don't follow this calling I will regret it for the rest of my life. My problem is I'm in school right now (second semester of college, first year) trying to become a mechanical engineer but I can't get the classes I need as they're closed by the time I get to sign up. Depressed because I've come to the realization that I do not have what it takes to pursue astrophysics, I would love to study the cosmos and how it works but when it comes to math I am god awful, but science classes, engineering classes, it clicks, I understand everything, I understand the physics pretty well, it's just the actual math part like the calculus classes that are really raping me. So I've been deciding on whether or not I should join the military, get the post 9/11 GI Bill, so that after my service hopefully my more developed brain will decide what it should, and attend a school without the worry of student debt and hopefully pursue a career working as an aerospace engineer. But I also feel like I'm running out of time as my friends and close ones progress with their lives, I want advice, serious advice please, I know this is random and weird to post in wallpaper general but I've been needing to just talk about it for some time now, and I don't feel like I can talk about it with my family or friends. Anon, The exact same happenned to me. I liked a girl in highschool, five years afterr seeing her last time, I dreamt about her, and then, a week later, as I am getting drunk in a bar on a Friday night, I saw her entering. Fun fact: she was single. We are marrying next year.

I have never believed in abnormal shit, and I'm not saying it will happen to you, it was more than likely a cosmic coincidence, but you know, sometimes shit happens when you don't expect it to get better, but it does, it is all a big dice roll and there is nothing we can do to control it, just buckle tight and enjoy the ride, today you are blue, tomorrow you don't know. Be yourself, learn to love yourself and to take care of your mind and then someone will come.

Im very, very good right now. I'm going to college this fall after a two-year sabbatical after upper-secondary. I'm feeling appreciated, working a good job which means I'm able to indulge in my hobbies (mexican cooking and fashion, it gets really expensive). I've been working very intensely on picking my mental health up over the past couple of years and it's starting to pay off, big time. Life is good and getting better. Sorry if I'm being to cheery but writing it all out like this makes me realize how far I've come.

Going back to finish my master's in mathematics in a few months, took a year off due to mental health memes, struggling to come to terms with sexuality but eventually got over it.

Been working in a warehousing job for the meantime as I don't live in a fantastic area and the depressive atmosphere has given me new breath, my time there is limited and moreover the flame has been rekindled, I cannot sentence myself to such a job forever so I must pursue my education further(PhD and research is end goal), I am thankful for what ordinarily one would be detesting of.

The semester is about to be out. I am from South Carolina. I moving to Amsterdam for the summer. To do ministry work, like a missionary of some sort. When i was there on spring break i met a girl on the street at night, when i was walking with a friend form South Africa. She heard my southern accent and loved it. She's about to finish High School, and is born and raised in Amsterdam, and from a good family. We message often and we are going to spend the summer together. She doesn't believe in God, but I have never met a girl like her. I told her we couldn't date since she's not Christian. We walked around the city for about 4 hours then shared a slice of cheesecake and We kissed.

I rely on weed as relief for my 'major depressive bipolar disorder' which swings me into worse and more intense low moods, but before I started smoking everything weighed a ton more and I couldn't even leave my house but as antidepressants are, it is a boost and something with side effects for me to drop when I feel necessary.

Finally gotten out of the NEET / Shut-in life. feelskindagoodman. This is after about 3-4 years on/off after living it.

I'm 23 and i'm about to graduate with a useless bachelor's degree. The plan was to go to grad school but I don't want to do that anymore nor do I think I can. Dont tell me, insurance missing or not enough. You might want to discuss stuff with a local doctor - they might offer a few programs that you can get through your city or state. This is of course a lot of work cause you will need to apply for things, and you might have to hit rock bottom to get to the point you will do this. I am of course assuming you might live in an English speaking country, which if i am wrong - my bad. As a person who had to search out help and got it when i needed it - i hope you too will one day get that.

I'm 28. I used to earn really good money as a software dev. But after some time, when all your needs are met, you realize money means nothing. So I decided to do what I always wanted - study math at best university in my country. Its super difficult. This is a real test for me. When you slack off at life, you can always say "I could have done that but I did't try". That's comfortable. But when you decide to put your very best in a goal that only you see reasonable, that a whole different story. You might learn things about yourself you didn't wanted to know. But it also makes you alive. I'm 28, I quit my job, I moved in with my mom. I feel like I've taken huge step back. But this is my personal fight, my pursuit of excellence. I cannot quit until i give it my best.

I went abroad and fell out of touch with a lot of friends, came back and I saw them the first week I arrived and that's the last time I saw them. Their routines changed and it's just not the same.
I'm about to graduate from Uni, this last semester I have felt so unmotivated, even though I enjoy what I study, I'm just fed up about the courses that feel pointless.

If things that are so out of your control like climate change are starting to bother you heavily, maybe you should worry more about yourself. You won't really make a difference in this problem and even less if you are at peace with yourself (which is a really hard thing to achieve imo)

I was in a bad place in the winter months, the ones where you wake up and stare at nothing for hours. It all felt pointless. I've changed my outlook, running helped a lot, I went veggie, I eat healthier. Recently went clubbing on holiday and danced with a very attractive girl, but made every excuse in the book that I could to justify why this would be happening other than that she just found me attractive too. Rationalising that has given me a huge confidence boost, women CAN find me attractive, I can run every day, I can be better. Now I just have to keep riding the wave. A lot of people have it far worse than me, but the only person who is gonna pull you out of the mud in this world is you, a fact I cannot stand, but had to accept.

I don't understand what people get out of it. Cheap laughs? It's the same when I see a thread about a serious topic, like a religious debate, get posted and for both sides to post the same tired one liners and overused arguments they've been posting since the board opened its doors, especially when it's clear neither side is really serious about what they're arguing for but are just doing it for a particular image or for attention.
It's tiresome. Post irony is tiresome. It's like people think holding a genuine opinion is too risky so they just couch their real opinions in layers of memes until someone attacks them for it and they act like they were merely pretending the whole time.

I've been pretty lonely for most of my life. Wherever I go I usually end up alienating people anyway.
Right now I'm in the military but I'm just as lonely as I was outside. People in my unit don't hate me per se but I'm not close with anyone and nobody wants to be close to me. Outside work I have no life. I spend every day after getting off idly browsing 4chan or mindlessly playing video games. On weekends I do the same but sleep more.
I miss my family but I don't have the leave saved up or the means to go home right now and won't for at least a couple months.

Im 27 and 8 years ago my whole family died.

My father got to hospital and was diagnosed with lung cancer. Was on a vacation during this time and couldnt say goodbye to a man that actually hit me during his drinking sessions. Still love him to this day. 3 Months later my mother was diagnosed the same thing. Stayed at home but since the cancer is destroying organs she is screaming and crying all night.
For 2 weeks straight she´s in constant pain. One night she asks me to kill her and wants to end the pain. Cant do anything. Felt so lonely.
2 Months Later she dies too. Left with my grandmother. A month later shes having a stroke from all the grief she must have been through burying her own child. From there i visited her daily in the hospital. She cant speak anymore but she was there. I read storys from the newspaper so she doesnt feel to lonely. Last person i have left. She got a second stroke and was completely gone. The last few minutes of her life, she cried and i took her hand and told her everything is going to be okay. She can be with my grandfather and with her daughter. Lost my traineeship afterwards. 1 year without a job just living into the day. Decided to either kill myself or get my ass off the ground. I moved to berlin and started a new life.

On the last 8 years i constantly dream about my mother crying and asking for death. I know im fucked up. But every day of my life is something i have to endure for the family i lost.
And im thankful for every piece of life coming at me.

Everyone of you struggling will endure it. Everyone of you having problems and not being happy with the way things go, will find a way through it. You are all amazing people going through shit. Never back down and embrace life.

My GF asked for "a break" because she doesnt know if she still loves me. I'm writing my final exams after HS to get into university, but there's teachers strike in my country and I don't know if I get to write those in first term and next term means no place in good universities. I've got great friends and family and that's keeping me away from giving in to stress, but man, I understand that teachers need higher pays, okay, but why are they doing it when it hurts not the government, but students and their parents. I know that it might be not as important as I think it is, but it's all I have now and I don't want to waste all of my education, especially because I always pursued to be the best, until I got into HS I had maybe 3 friends that were not to exploit me, only in HS I met so many great, really smart people who understood me because they're the same as me. It's hard to explain, but I feel like when I fail those exams I fail at my life and everything I've done up to this point was pointless. It's changing a little now as I have finally met somebody that loves me as much as I love her and I never thought having a girlfriend who loves you so much can be such a great feeling.

I've been through the same thing. I don't think you should hold on to your girlfriend. Find a project (e.g. work, studies, friends, hobby, etc.) and dedicate yourself to it. Maybe life will do the job and give you another chance.

This a permanent solution to a finite problem that you have now believed to be infinite. So I get the feeling behind the words. All I can say is as hard as it is try to brush those thoughts aside and replace them whenever they come up with something positive. Whatever that may be. Recondition your brain slowly but surely to think positive.

This is a harder feeling to deal with. However I find a lot of the time the amount of grief you think you have cause is less than you might expect. If your parents deserve what you say they do. Slowly but surely change those negatives into positives one by one. For example you say "more grateful", tell them thank you for putting a roof over my head, Thank you for buying that food or drink that one time. Simple things but I'm sure that your parents would be happy to hear those words. I'll con't in the next post.

As I said that is a permanent solution to a finite problem. Change your routine even just by the the littlest bit and your own rate. Maybe you do the same routine for first 6 days but on the 7th buy a plant and plant it. Find an outlet for your emotions, write a poem. Let them go from your mind to paper so your mind can become clear to not focus on these current thoughts.

The saying everything will be better in time. I like to not take it so literally but if your day is a tiny bit better each day, you may look back in a year or 5 or 10 and realize. Hey life isn't perfect but it is better.

You have trapped yourself in this vicious circle where you see suicide is the only exit. Living can also be an exit to this circle. It won;t change overnight but little by little it will change and you may not notice it. By the time you do notice it will be a good thing.

2017/8 were two particularly bad years for me, I dropped out of university and fell into NEET life wasting my savings and doing nothing productive, ended up in a very bad place mentally and it seemed like it wasn't going to get better.

But then it did. I landed a job that made me enough money to go out and start socializing again, reconnected with friends and eventually found myself in a place where i'm able to start steadily making improvements in multiple areas of my life.

Then out of nowhere comes this girl, first time i've ever dated anyone which is exciting and terrifying at the same time. It was difficult to wrap my head around a woman actually expressing interest in me, but maybe I need to start giving myself more credit.

2019 has been very good to me so far, and for the first time in many, many years I feel like my life is on an upward trajectory and I just feel so happy. We're all gonna make it.

I'm working in fast food now and am on the verge of finding a job to start my career. The trouble is I'm turning 25 next month and I'm on the brink.
I feel like I've never tried at or cared about anything in my life except for a summer I spent studying in Japan. I know if I wanted to move there and teach english or get a business career I'd have to go all in and I just don't think I have the will to do so.

I don't think I can give up all my wide open space, collectables, pets, etc despite knowing I'd be more fulfilled living there being "normal" and starting a family or something.

Now I'm studying for my postgrad and spend every day locked in my room barely able to eat because over 50 job applications later I still haven't been hired despite two years of prior customer service experience. When I first arrived here I fell in with one of the university societies and had just one good month before drama and infighting imploded the social circle. I walked away with one friend who I supported over 6 months while she struggled with depression and an anxiety disorder at the cost of my own mental health. She met a new group of friends and started talking to me less, and flaking on any plans we made. She got a boyfriend and things worsened from there until after she stood me up, ghosted me for two days, and provided no explanation or apology for why she fucked me off, I confronted her on her behaviour only to have her twist the situation and explode in rage at me for calling her out on her shit, as if I was the bad guy for being upset with her. Now I have no friends, and I spend every day wondering how she could do that to me when we'd grown so close, and she knew that I was struggling too.

Most days now I just stay inside listening to music and watching all the weight I gained slide off my body because I can't afford the gym or good food anymore. And apparently I vent on 4chan too, but with nobody else around it's here or the walls of my flat.

First time in my life death hasn't scared me. Wallpapers take me back to when I lived in a greener place and felt happier.

This with me being an overachiever type, one of the best in uni, generally fit, etc, so I have some experience in the question. I think the Sim perspective helps a lot, but many people simply say, treat yourself as a person you are responsible for.

I hope I could help, focus on baby steps anon and always consider yesterday your starting state. This is important because if every single day you try to make up for yesterday's slacking, you will set irrealistic goals you can't achieve (work/study 8 hrs fix this and that in the house, visit grandma whatever).

Keep on going, and don't be afraid to change things up in your life if you need to!

Remember posting in one of these threads a little under a year ago. Had just finished graduating from college and managed to find some work that's easy to do and enough pay to keep me afloat while I thought on stuff, which is what I'd mainly been doing for the last two or so years of school and the year following to now. Honestly I'm not really so sure as to what to think anymore. I always feel torn between two extremes that each are just as real and valid as the other. My main dissonance is between the ever present urge to help others because I know from personal experience how little can mean so much to a person, but at the same time I'm a horrifically muted and closed off individual who by and large wants nothing to do with anyone else. I hate obligations, loathe engagements, when I'm at them I'd rather be anywhere else, but these are the only times I can actually be put in situations where I might actually be of help.

I also hate the notion of being pigeonholed as part of an ulterior interest or even the perception of it when trying to help people, which is why I've by and large disregarded the notion of a legitimate social work career or something in that vein. It has however led me to wanting a job where I can achieve a balance between all of these concerns at once, hard as it is. I've been considering training for a position as an EMT. With something like this I feel I can get the best of both worlds by being able to help others in an impactful way and have it be something that I don't get bogged down in for extended time with any one person and there's significantly less in the way of potential negative perceptions that it's done for ulterior reasons. I always considered myself the type of person who can remain calm in hectic situations as well which adds to it. It will all depend on how my searching goes over the next few months, but I feel something like that would be as fulfilling as it can get on all fronts of my generally divided self.

Against all odds, I've fought a lot of battles, internal and external, to stay in my dream university. So that's a good thing. However, my GPA has tanked because of a suicide attempt, so now I feel that my degree might be worthless with a low GPA and no internships.

But what matters is that I have salvaged things and I'm healthier and happier now. I'm glad I am here. What changed? I have learned that I'm associating too much of my value as a person to shallow things - like this university, my grades, lost opportunities, regrets, etc. I've learned to validate myself and my experiences now.

Lately I've been watching a lot of youtube videos about aviation and it seems like becoming an airline transport pilot would be pretty incredible. It takes quite a long time and a good chunk of money to become a pilot, but I'm 30 years young and I'm sick of floating from job to job every few years in search of something better, without actually training for anything different. Had to drop out of college this week due to insufficient credits. The thing about the military is that nothing says you have to do it forever. You could do your time and get out. or you could end up like my father intended to just do his time an get out, but has ended up liking it a lot and has been in for as long as I've been alive.

You've got to just make a decision and stick with it. I will say this though, living the military life is not bad at all, you get to do and see a lot that most people don't. Plus living on post is kinda nice, you are surrounded by a community of (mostly) great people.

Took this picture last deployment. I was miserable being stuck out in the middle of the ocean for so long. I was really unhappy then. I still am. Especially knowing I'll have to do another deployment this year
But I really enjoyed being able to visit those new places. It's really inspired me to want to travel more, which was something I used to never see in myself. Maybe even live outside the US for a few years.
It's scary to me to think I'll be in my mid twenties by the time I can continue with my life. I tell myself everyone goes at a different pace in life. But it's hard to not compare yourself to those who ended up better off.
Do I want a cozy, mediocre life doing what I'm doing now but outside the military or take a risk and go back to school for another career that I would start in my 30s?

I need a better camera.

I graduate from community college in 3 weeks, going into an EMT-B program this summer before transferring to a 4 year in the fall. I'm feeling exhausted but I'm looking forward to the few weeks I'll have out of classes in August. Now I am paranoid they'll call me back again once I heal, and I don't want to go back. I've been lied to my whole life and I no longer want in again. This paranoia has seriously stifled my creativity. I am not sure if they will force me back at the fort, I've been told while I was being discharged they won't, but I don't know if I should trust them. Any amount of searching I do on this doesn't give an answer. I'm stuck back at root 1 but now with fucked up bones and constant fear of being called back.

I seriously hope for clarification on if they'll send me back so I know I am safe knowing I have the option of saying no.

I know it's a very poor choice coming in weak, but I live every day since with a constant reminder of it and I no longer want to be apart of the war machine.

Recently quit my job at mcdonalds where i had made massive life and self improvement gains by loosing 60kg, buying my own apartment and a bunch of other stuff. Now ive started at a summerjob at a dairy factory with much better pay,schedule and benefits. Its a dream come true and i feel like my life is better than its ever been, im a completly different person than before i started working and working out.

But i dread what will happen if i dont get to stay on the crew after summer is over but right now im so focused on just doing the new job i cant think of anything else. I also feel shitty because i cant take care of my dog when i work so my family supports me by taking care of him but i dont want to spend time away from him.

Im thinking that when i have lost some more weight and gotten abs i am gonna use the money i have saved up to travel the world for a year or so and see interesting stuff before i go home and study to become a industrial dairy technician. Does that sound like a good plan for a 22 year old?

You can find support for that on Reddit, there's all kinds of subreddits for support for kicking any number of substances.

It was invaluable for me quitting Xanax and cigarettes while living alone and friendless hundreds of miles from home, each of which has their own board. I know the reputation Reddit has on here, but these are non-default subs and therefore filter out a lot of the trolls and bullshit. Just my 2¢! Good luck!

First semester was as expected, I cared and aced most things with minimal effort. Two semesters later and I keep flopping at least one class or two. If I get a new one, I bet reading and listening to music during the long bus rides I take every start and end of the week will make things better. I hope I can make it, I'm afraid, man. But I wasn't born to be afraid, so I gotta shake it off soon and get back on it. I'm on my own, and that's not a bad thing.

My life's been going downhill since the beginning of 2018. My 3 year relationship was coming to an end, and that end finally came midway through the year. Hurt a lot at first, then I started training a martial art and doing exercise, reading more, searching for God, getting more friends. Not gonna lie, I felt pretty good at that time... Then on winter I started missing her like hell, I tried contacting her and all. Nothing came of it, she had moved on with her romantic life. And now I've been skipping training, slacking in school, just quit from my weekend job, have been drinking a lot. I don't miss her that much anymore, so I don't really know why I feel so shit now. I've lost motivation.

Two people in my hometown killed themselves 2 days ago. I knew both of them.

One was a girl who took a bunch of pills on purpose. She was found outside her car, car door open, lights on.

The other was the owner of my gym. His wife/gf broke up with him on Friday. The next day he hung himself in his home.

People have waited on people to get better, or to be better for those specific people - but it isnt always a fairy tale ending. You are feeling rejected again, maybe feeling the finality of it. You need to realize the feelings, let yourself mourn - then try to get back into your routine. In a month, things should be back to normal, as you had a shock and had to deal with that. Everyone gets that stuff, it can blow them off track. Had a friend ghost me a few years ago, tried to play it off as a small thing - but it definitely fucked up my self esteem and gutted me as she and i had been close like family. It still bothers me when mutual friends bring her up, and sometimes they do it on purpose to fuck with me. It grows less painful, but you still remember.

I feel like I'm drowining in my thougths lately.

I'm studing a degree I didn't want to study. I was uncertain at first but after four years I can confirm it wasn't the one I wanted. And I've come to enjoy my mathematics, they have an incomparable elegance in it's austeruty. I, however, wanted to study biology.
I hope to finish university next year, so I won't quit now, but still I hate the feeling of knowing that I want something else.

Also, I'm tired of the town I'm currently living in. I know too many people here. There are too many people I don't want to see, too many memories I don't want to revive, too many places that remind me the live I've had here. Luckily, I'm going to study abroad next year.

I wanted to get on shape. I've think of joining a gym. There is one I like, I wrote them an email asking how much money it would cost me. They hadn't ansew me yet. I gess I'll write another one, or search on another place.

One of my main problems is that I don't have any group of friends. I had one I some years ago, but we fell apart. Each one of us followed a different direction, now we are too far apart. I need new friends, but at the same time I'm leaving this town next september (perhaps this summer, I haven't decided yet), and I don't plan on coming back. I have been using this excuse for too much time. I used so much when it didn't make sense, that has lost it's meaning, now when I could legitimately use it.

My life is a mess on many aspects. I wanted this to be more organized, but my thoughts seem to be having some sort of chaotic dance on my head.

I mean. I have been told that I am good loocking, and not only by my mom and my grandma. I feel I'm wasting potential there.

Funny fact about my hair. A few weeks ago I discovered that shampoo actually leaves my hair on a better condition. I just used regular soap before.

I'm currently kind of stuck in limbo, waiting to see what comes of that job because that will determine my next mood. I've been exercising a lot and I'm in the best shape of my life right now. I guess since I'm stuck in limbo right now with the job thing, I've been searching for some meanings, so I've found myself on this board quite often in the last couple of weeks. Browsing wallpapers and reading paragraphs giving me a little slice of somebody's life is just so calming. I'm wishing you all the best.

I feel like I should ask her out, but I don't want to break this little bit of woman's attention I get. Don't want to mess it up, since I am kind of an autistic cunt.

Funny thing is, one girl at this new job actually wanted to go out with me. She gave me her number and everything. Didn't feel right. Was too easy, and although she is pretty, there was just something wrong with the whole situation.

Just try to keep your grade in the class up as much as possible. AP calc is easier than 1st year calculus. Don’t forget to develop the other parts of you as a person. I sacrificed a lot for school and it left me feeling empty for a long time. Build relationships with people. Find a hobby you’re passionate about. And as cheesy as it sounds, find a way to give back to your community. It’s good for you even if you hate it at first. It’s going to be ok man. Hang in there and keep your chin up.

Last week marked my first sober year, I now have a stable job I love in the IT field, also have a new relationship going for a few months, started studying languages again and formed a band that recently started playing gigs. Currently everything is going well. Great, even.

But even though I know I should be happy for what I have and I am certainly not complaining, it feels like after all the s**t that has happened in the past I can't help but expect everything to go to hell and throw me back into the darkness I became so used to.

I've found that life in general is becoming this, every has to be "winning" the argument, if they aren't they just start meming. for example you can easily see this shit among political shows like Steven Crowder and Jim Jefferies, they hide behind "this is comedy" even though all they have done is serious political discussion with a few dry jokes thrown in. Jim was the real sign that the talk shows have run their course because he had absolutely zero place being anywhere near a desk. this shit has spread to normal conversation too and it's concerning. On the internet it's the worst and is always followed up with "well if you wanted to have a real debate than don't go on such and such website of app" when the actual websites devoted to debate move at a snail's pace at best. we need more seriousness in politics badly.

It wasn't a bad break, and I'm actually kind of happy. I've been thinking about leaving for a long while, but things like marriage, boss being on maternity leave, car troubles have been keeping me back from actually taking the step.

Honestly, they've been holding me back in my field since it's such a small company, and one of my bosses is crazy. (like legitimately, psych ward, meds, therapy, etc.)
She would constantly shame me from thinking about leaving before. Thankfully my other boss is more level headed about this whole thing.

It's such a huge burden off my shoulders, and I know I can become a better than either of them if I find the right job, but I still spent 5 years of my life with them, full time. It feels surreal.

In the morning I'm going to start putting my portfolio together and start searching for a new job.

Married, but it's no picnic. Wife has a lot of health issues that keeps her in a bad mood a lot of times. Puts a strain on things.
Worked odd jobs my whole life. Been trying to go into IT but I got fired from my first tech job around Christmas after 3 months and haven't gotten rehired since.
Had to move back in with my grandparents. Now my wife, my daughter, and I have to share a room coming from a two bedroom apartment.
I try to keep my chin up and be optimistic but secretly I think I'm destined for failure. Like, I'm going to try my hardest and things just won't work out for me.

My life is pretty good right now, only problem is I live with my parents.
I have a good, well paying job that I enjoy most of the time.
I met someone that I think I'm really in love with.

But I still have this deep sadness inside that I can't shake. Things have gotten better, no doubt, but I've just started seeing a therapist so I have someone to talk to.

Dropped out of the Statistics program at a top canadian university today and am going back home to Texas at the end of the month to recoup. The stress I was put on doing this shit was crazy. It was genuinely eating away at my soul. Last year I got through some extremely hard courses, and ended up doing well at the expense of all of my free time and general well being. I was eating like shit to save time, and spent 30-35+ hours a week studying for my courses, breaking out due to stress, increased heart rate, etc. The normal courses I take here are like taking honors courses back home, I swear to God. It only got harder this summer, and I gave it all that I had last time. I'm hopefully going to do something easier; I've got to research more lucrative degrees, because getting a stats undergrad is just not it for me right now. Thinking about accounting. Doesn't seem like it would drain my life force, and I could make some solid cash with it. Enough to be happy. I just want an apartment with a dog, and some time to read.
Mostly just going to miss the family that I've had here for the past 2 years, and the people who have been so kind to me. I've got people to work towards seeing again. I also really like Canada a lot more than the US, significantly so. Those are my only regrets in leaving, but that's how life is. Maybe I'll be back, huh? I'm young and have a lot of life left.

I made a few big mistakes at work and I'm scared that they are trying to push me gently out of my job now towards the door. It's very hard to get fired from the company I work at, but people frequently find themselves gently pushed towards the door until they leave on their own. I am so anxious at work thinking about it, that it's causing me to make more mistakes. I'm also anxious because I had friends over a few weeks ago and we stayed up late drinking and discussing current events and I think I accidentally slipped up and said something racist. It's been sitting in the pit of my stomach for about two weeks now that I may have accidentally shown my power level to some normie friends.

I don't know what I regret more some days. That I financially pained myself to engage in this nonsense or that I still think about her and miss her emotionally. I see her on fb and try to block her but I don't. I dreamt about her last night and I haven't spoken to her in a year. I know it's a lie. I know she isn't real. But I feel for her all the same. My emotions are convinced that she was a woman who cared for me, and it's just not true.

Is true love even real? How can I go through life and not manage to manifest one significant relationship? Where is my +1? Am I even capable of bonding anymore?

I went on these types of threads three years ago when I was really depressed and in fear of failing university. I did fail university but I am feeling so much better without the stress and I feel so optimistic about an open future but I feel like while the nature of my depression has changed, it is more insidious now. At least back then it was directly related to things happening in my life that might have been fixed, but now it comes as a sense of waste. it's like if my basic emotions and higher level sense of purpose were fuel, in university I had less but at least it was on fire. Now i have a huge reservoir inside me, but try as I might i cannot make it catch flame.
