I'm not a genwunner or anything, but goddamn. It just feels like every starter trio's been downhill after them, just failed attempts to catch the same lightning in a bottle. No other gen has been able to capture starter pokemon as well as they did.

Such a fucking embarrassment holy shit. Over the last few years my disgust for all the negatives has easily been overtaking the positives that kept me holding on. The pokemon universe has taken enough irreversible damage, I don't even wanna acknowledge it, it's unrecognizable and too far detached from what it once was. Not unlike Star Wars and other big franchises, they may be "alive" in the sense that there is people throwing money at the brand but the spirit is very much dead.
